Indian Women's League 2024-25: Odisha FC host East Bengal FC in inaugural game

The 2024-25 Indian Women’s League (IWL) season will see defending champions Odisha FC taking on East Bengal FC (EBFC) at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on January 10, 2025. Matchweek 1 will also witness runners-up Gokulam Kerala FC (GKFC) take on Sreebhumi FC (SBFC) on the same day at Payyanad Stadium, Manjeri.
Building on last year’s exciting season, the IWL fixture list promises to deliver another action-packed season featuring some of the very best players from India’s national football team.
Contenders for the upcoming IWL season
Notable teams like Gokulam Kerala FC, and Kickstart FC (KFC) will be the ones looking to disrupt Odisha FC’s title defense.
Gokulam Kerala FC, known for their consistent performances in past seasons, are expected to be a formidable force once again this upcoming season. They have been successful in becoming a formidable force at home and have made the Payyanad Stadium a fortress.
The Malabarians will kick off their campaign against Sreebhumi FC, ahead of tough fixtures that may challenge them this season. Another intriguing fixture would be their clash with potential title challengers Kickstart FC in Bangalore on March 23.
Another team looking to lay down an early season marker will be Kickstart FC, as they will be playing their first match against Hyderabad FC (HFC) at Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi. With a fixture-heavy schedule, including key encounters against East Bengal and Gokulam Kerala in matchweek 2 and 3 respectively, early season showing will determine their potential as title contenders this season.
East Bengal FC, a traditional powerhouse in Indian football, will be looking to make a resounding comeback in the upcoming IWL season. The Torchbearers will be keen to make an early season statement in matchweek 1 against Odisha FC at the historic Kalinga Stadium.
