Ryan Williams

Whether it was producing a vital save, commanding his penalty area or helping Bengaluru progress the ball from the back, Gurpreet consistently delivered throughout the season.

Underperformer of the season

Suresh Singh Wangjam

Suresh Singh Wangjam endured a disappointing 2025-26 campaign and was unable to make the impact Bengaluru FC would have expected from one of their senior midfielders.

Throughout the season, the midfielder struggled to influence games consistently, often finding himself bypassed in midfield battles and failing to provide the control the Blues needed.

While Bengaluru faced several challenges collectively, Suresh’s individual performances rarely stood out for the right reasons.

His passing lacked the authority and progression expected from a player in his role, while his influence on both phases of play remained limited across large stretches of the campaign. For a player with Suresh’s level of experience, the season felt like a significant step backwards.

With Bengaluru FC looking to re-establish themselves among the league’s strongest sides, they will need far more from Suresh if he is to remain a key part of the club’s plans moving forward.

Managerial report

Lessons learned from the season

If Bengaluru FC’s 2025-26 season proved anything, it is that a strong defence alone cannot carry a team through an entire campaign. While his quality remains unquestionable, Bengaluru FC must develop alternative sources of creativity and goals if they are to build a sustainable and competitive team for the future.

Fan’s view

The season was undoubtedly frustrating for Bengaluru FC supporters. Expectations were understandably high after the previous campaign, and many fans will feel the team underachieved. But Most of them are happy with the performance of the team despite it being a short season.

Yet despite the disappointment, there remains cautious optimism among the fans. The emergence of young talents, the continued commitment shown by senior players and the club’s willingness to give opportunities to academy graduates offered supporters reasons to remain hopeful.

The West Block Blues continued to stand behind the team throughout a difficult season, even when results failed to match expectations.
