Inter Kashi bolster squad with four Spanish signings ahead of ISL debut

I-League champions waste no time building for the big leap
The Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 finally gets underway on February 14, and newly promoted Inter Kashi aren’t hanging around. They’ve just locked in four foreign additions to gear up for life in the top flight.
Khel Now can confirm that the I-League champions have completed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Lluís Tarrés, midfielder Sergio Llamas, and winger Alfred Planas and have brought back defender David Humanes from their sister club Inter Club d’Escaldes.
The moves come after Inter Kashi had already wrapped up the Indian signings of Seiminlen Doungel, Nishu Kumar and Jayesh Rane. With that, the club has quietly put together a squad that mixes familiarity with experience, rather than opting for a complete overhaul.
With that mix of experience, youth, and some known quantities, Inter Kashi looks like they’re serious about not just surviving but making noise in their first ISL season.
Lluís Tarrés: A new presence between the posts
Standing at 1.89 metres, Tarrés arrives as a commanding presence in goal. A product of Córdoba CF’s youth system, the 24-year-old has spent his career in Spain’s competitive lower divisions, gaining valuable minutes in Segunda B and Segunda Federación. He is known for his reflex saves and ability to dominate the penalty area.
He has also had a spell with Getafe B, where his shot-stopping and command of the penalty area stood out. As a left-footed keeper, 24 years old, a trait often prized for opening up different passing angles from the back, he offers a modern profile suited to possession-based systems. Tarrés fits the profile of a modern goalkeeper and will be competing to establish himself as Inter Kashi’s first-choice stopper.
Sergio Llamas: Experience and leadership in midfield
Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Llamas brings a genuine top-flight pedigree to Inter Kashi’s midfield. He rose through the academy ranks at Deportivo Alavés and went on to play across various tiers of Spanish football, including La Liga 2, scoring memorable goals in the Copa del Rey.
After spells in Finland and Bolivia, the 32-year-old made his mark in Indian football with Gokulam Kerala FC during the 2024 season, becoming a key figure.
His calmness on the ball and ability to dictate tempo quickly made him one of the standout midfielders in the I-League. He isn’t just a technician; he is a leader who blends creativity with grit, capable of operating as a deep-lying playmaker or an attacking “number 8” who will be loved by Inter Kashi fans.
Following a short stint with Italian Serie D side FBC Gravina, where he featured in 16 matches, Llamas now returns to India, expected to play a central role in Inter Kashi’s ISL campaign.
Alfred Planas: Direct, aggressive, and unpredictable
The Dynamic Journeyman Alfred Planas is a classic winger, fast, direct, and constantly looking to create chaos in the final third. A traveller by nature, his career is a tour of Spain’s diverse footballing landscape, with stints at historic academies like Espanyol and Málaga, and senior spells at clubs like Reus, Elche, and Sabadell. He flourishes on the flank, where his dribbling ability and penchant for cutting inside allow him to unlock stubborn defences. He caught wider attention during the 2023–24 Copa del Rey, scoring three goals and finishing among the joint top scorers of the competition. At 29, Planas brings pace, directness, and a willingness to take defenders on—qualities Inter Kashi lacked at times last season.
After a brief spell in India with Gokulam Kerala and appearances in the AIFF Super Cup 2025, his move to Inter Kashi gives him a chance to test himself regularly at the ISL level.
David Humanes: Familiar face returns to Kashi

Humanes is no stranger to Inter Kashi. The 28-year-old centre-back was part of the club’s I-League-winning squad in 2024–25, featuring in 20 matches across the league and Super Cup. He even got on the scoresheet in a crucial win over Rajasthan United.
At 1.88 metres, Humanes offers physicality and aerial strength. His career has taken him through multiple leagues, including spells in Bulgaria with Slavia Sofia, Romania with Academica Clinceni, and Armenia with Ararat-Armenia, where he also featured in continental competitions.
After a short stint with Inter Club d’Escaldes, including appearances in UEFA Champions League qualifiers, Humanes now returns to Kashi with familiarity, experience, and an understanding of Indian football’s demands.
All Spainish foreign contingent
These four join Mario Barco, so it’s an all-Spanish foreign lineup under coach Antonio López Habas. With fixtures dropping soon, Inter Kashi supporters must be buzzing. After the promotion drama, this squad rebuild feels like a statement: they’re here to compete, not just show up.
