ISL 2025-26: Jamshedpur FC complete squad for upcoming season

Red Miners almost made it to the ISL semi-finals last season under Khalid Jamil
The last time a Scottish manager was at the dugout of Jamshedpur FC, they went on to become the Champions of India back in 2022. Back in 2019, when the legendary Owen Coyle came to India, it was at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, where his Indian odyssey first kick-started.
Four years later, the Red Miners have reunited with former Burnley gaffer Owen Coyle, who will be keen to bring back those old golden days at the Furnace. After Khalid Jamil’s departure, Steven Dias was at the helm of Jamshedpur FC in the Durand Cup knockout games and the AIFF Super Cup.
Ahead of the new season, we take a look at how Jamshedpur FC‘s roster looks and whether they can be the dark horses again. They retained their core players like Stephen Eze, Albino Gomes and Rei Tachikawa. They also roped in key players like Madih Talal and Nikola Stojanovic to bolster their attacking unit.
In this article, we take a closer look at Jamshedpur FC’s squad, analyse their strength and weaknesses to find out if they can repeat the heroics of ISL 2021-22 under Owen Coyle.
Goalkeepers:

Ever since Jamshedpur FC made their debut in the ISL, they have relied on three custodians, one among them, the legendary Subrata Paul, went on to win the ISL Golden Boot in their debut season. Albino Gomes joined the Red Miners and had big responsibilities on his shoulders after Rehenesh TP left for Mumbai.
Albino was brilliant last season, making crucial saves and nobody in the tournament’s decade long history has saved more penalties than Gomes. The two reserve goalkeepers include Amrit Gope, the local lad who played every game for JFC in Durand Cup and Ravi Kumar, who is making a comeback to the Furnace.
Defenders:

Jamshedpur had a shaky defense last season. They conceded the joint second most goals last season despite making it to the semi finals. They have however retained key defensive players like Stephen Eze, Lazar Cirkovic and Pratik Chaudhari. Nikhil Barla and Sarthak Golui will be looking forward to creating menace from the right flank.
After Uvais and Ashutosh Mehta headed northwards, the big question will be, who will play in the left back position. They have solid centre back players and either of Pratik or Cirkovic could pair up with Eze. However, they may be wary of how last season, they conceded some heavy 5-0 defeats, that badly affected their goal difference.
Midfielders:

When it comes to the midfield, the Red Miners look very solid. Despite growing concerns over Pronay’s fitness, he has time and again delivered solid performances in the centre of the park alongside Rei Tachikawa, Sourav Das and Mobashir Rahman.
Madih Talal will be tasked with the responsibility to fill the boots of departing Javi Hernandez. To bolster the midfield, they also acquired the services of I League champion Nikola Stojanovic and Mark Zo from East Bengal. Germanpreet and young Kartik Choudhari has also been retained by the Red Miners.
Forwards:

The Red Miners will be heavily dependent on Cameroonian striker Raphael Messi Bouli. Manvir Singh will also have a golden chance to impress as JFC lack other players in the centre forward position. From the flanks, Owen Coyle will expect those accelerated runs from Md. Sanan, Vincy Baretto and Ritwik Das.
They look like a balanced team upfront. However, tension may flare up in case of injuries of crucial players and suspensions and unavailability in big games, just like how Eze missed the second leg of the ISL semifinals against Mohun Bagan, where JFC were leading 1-0 before conceding twice in Kolkata.
