Kerala Blasters FC seek consecutive wins against Odisha FC at home.

Blasters won their first home game of the season against Jamshedpur

Kerala Blasters FC will lock horns against Odisha FC on the 23rd of April, 2026, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, as Kerala Blasters FC look forward to extending their winning streak while Odisha FC eyes ending their four-game winless streak in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26.

Odisha FC, currently 13th in the group table, and Blasters 11th in the group table will be looking forward to fetching all three points to move as far as possible from the relegation trap and keep themselves safe. Hence, the objective for both teams are simple, play their best football and aim for a positive result.

The Stakes

Kerala Blasters FC, ever since the arrival of Ashley Westwood, has been in a completely different form and shape in the Indian Super League 2025-26.

A team that struggled to fetch points in the initial half of the season rose from their ruins after the international break and transformed into a competitive side.

Even though Ashley and his side started with a 2-0 loss against SC Delhi, they came back with full vigour in the southern derby against Bengaluru FC, defeating the Blues 2-1.

Later, after drawing the game against NorthEast United FC, the Tuskers registered a dominating 2-0 victory against Jamshedpur FC, a match which most fans thought would be against the favour of the Blasters.

With eight points in ten matches, the Blasters are currently in the 11th position of the group table, a position that almost takes them out of the relegation trap.

However, the Tuskers will be looking forward to nothing less than a win against Odisha FC, which would take them as high as the 8th position and provide a permanent relief from getting relegated this season.

Odisha FC

Odisha FC, came into the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 as the underdogs, but started the season with a draw against a strong Inter Kashi side.

Later on, they went on to defeat NorthEast United with a scoreline of 4-1, surprising everyone. However, after that match, things have been going downhill for the Juggernauts.

Odisha FC succumbed to a 1-0 loss against Mumbai City FC, and a 3-1 loss against FC Goa. In their latest match, they faced a rather disappointing draw against Mohammedan SC, a game, where winning was not an option, but the only option for the Juggernauts.

Now, they face the Blasters after a three-game winless run. Odisha, currently in the 13th position with just six points, will be looking forward to making the best out of the match against Blasters to fetch all three points and move as far as possible, considering the fact that, Mohammedan SC are slowly getting a pace of the league with two draws in their last two matches.

Team News

Danish and Karim have sustained hamstring injuries during the recent fixture against Jamshedpur FC. Both players are currently under close observation by the club’s medical team.

Amawia is set to undergo ankle surgery and will be unavailable for the remainder of the season. Matias Hernandes, who was suspended for the match against Jamshedpur FC, will be available for selection against Odisha FC.

As far as Odisha FC are concerned, there are no major injury concerns or suspensions for their clash against Kerala Blasters.

The Kerala Blasters FC midfielder, Vibin Mohanan will be the key player to watch out for in the match against Odisha FC. With a good creativity and an excellent decision-making ability, coupled with a great awareness of the game, Vibin has been more confident and stable under Ashley Westwood’s midfield system.

With a freedom to venture into the attack rather than moving deep and playing more or less defensively as compared to Catala’s system, Vibin has been able to ude his attacking flair to the fullest potential under Ashley.

In their recent match against Jamshedpur FC, Vibin came in as a substitute for Karim, quite early in the first half and within just minutes, managed to double the advantage of the Blasters, helping his side to register the first victory.

Rahul KP (Odisha FC)

The former Kerala Blasters FC player, Rahul KP has been the key contributor for the Juggernauts and will be the key player to watch out for against Kerala Blasters FC.

This season, in six appearances, the player has scored two goals for his side and is currently the top goal scorer for Odisha FC in the ISL 2025-26.

After some struggling seasons, barely managing to contribute to par with the expectations of the fans, Rahul has been in a relatively better shape at Odisha.

With an improved awareness in the final third and a good control of the ball along with his quick movements with a touch of his silky smooth moves, he will be a potent threat for the Blasters.

Despite being not included in the matchday squad against Mohammedan to prevent an aggregative injury despite travelling with the team, Rahul is expected to feature against his previous side, the Blasters at a familiar JLN Kochi venue.
