A total of four players are in the list

The Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 season kicked off in eventful fashion, with a weekend full of drama, late twists and impressive performances from young Indian players. Bengaluru FC came from behind to beat Sporting Club Delhi 3-2 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, with Menno Koch’s 89th-minute header sealing the win.

Kerala Blasters FC began their campaign with a composed 2-0 victory over Inter Kashi in Pune, while FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Fatorda, with Chiki’s header earning Goa a point.

Debutants Churchill Brothers also claimed a notable 2-1 win over Mumbai City FC, with Gaurav Bora scoring the club’s first-ever ISL goal.

Amid the goals and drama, four young Indian players stood out with their performances over the opening weekend.

Hnamte was the creative link in Sporting Club Delhi’s spirited display against Bengaluru FC. The 23-year-old played all 90 minutes, created four chances and provided an assist in an entertaining contest.

His moment of vision created the opportunity for Rodriguinho to finish from close range in the 26th minute, bringing Delhi level. Although Delhi eventually suffered a narrow defeat, Hnamte’s energy, composure and passing ability were clear positives for the side.

Soham Varshneya (Bengaluru FC)

Soham Varshneya made his presence felt in Bengaluru FC’s comeback victory with his well-timed deliveries and attacking contributions.

The 22-year-old played a key role in the decisive moment, delivering the cross that Menno Koch headed home in the 89th minute to secure all three points for the Blues. His ability to create opportunities and deliver under pressure made him one of the young players to watch from the opening weekend.

Vibin Mohanan (Kerala Blasters FC)

Vibin Mohanan made an impressive start to the campaign by opening the scoring in the 18th minute of Kerala Blasters FC’s 2-0 win over Inter Kashi. The 23-year-old also created two chances, underlining his ability to contribute beyond scoring goals.

His early breakthrough helped the Blasters establish control of the contest and provided an encouraging glimpse of what he could offer in midfield this season.
