Kerala Blasters 0-0 Mumbai City FC player ratings: Amrinder Shines, Yansané disappoints in 2026-27 ISL clash

The Islanders held the Blasters to a goalless draw in Kochi.

In the 3rd match of their 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season, Kerala Blasters FC were held to a goalless draw by Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, in front of a sold-out crowd of around 40,000.

The hosts controlled the attacking phases and created the clearer openings, but a lack of composure in the final third cost them a win they largely did enough to earn.

Mohammed Sanan, Freddy Lallawmawma and Adrian Luna all had presentable opportunities, while Nebojsa Kosović’s midfield control and the wide deliveries of Korou Singh and Sreekuttan MS kept feeding the front line.

The decisive touch never arrived, and a moment of defensive carelessness nearly punished Kerala at the other end.

Both goalkeepers kept a clean sheet in the game. Amrinder Singh made key stops to deny Noufal and Valpuia and bailed out the defence after a loose pass from Naocha.

While on the other half of the pitch, TP Rehenesh made repeated saves to protect Mumbai’s clean sheet. The point leaves Kerala with a familiar question about their conversion rate.

Kerala Blasters FC Player Ratings (By Jeremy)

Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere

Amrinder Singh – 8.0/10

Amrinder was Kerala’s most dependable performer. He made crucial saves against Noufal and Valpuia, and his reaction after Naocha’s error spared the team a goal that would have undone an otherwise dominant display.

RV Hormipam – 6.5/10

Defensively solid and tidy in possession. He also joined the attack, and one good combination ended with his effort hitting the side netting.

He added useful width but nothing decisive.

James Bolton – 7.5/10

James Bolton was key in ensuring that Kerala Blasters kept a clean sheet against Mumbai City FC.

An experienced, composed display at the back from Bolton. He read Mumbai’s attacks well and shut down their forward movement, which let the rest of the side commit numbers forward.

Aibanbha Kupar Dohling – 6.5/10

Part of a back line that restricted Mumbai to a handful of real chances. He did not feature in any key moments, which in a defender is a mark of a steady shift. The rating reflects reliability rather than standout influence.

Huidrom Naocha Singh – 6.0/10

A split performance. His risky pass nearly handed Mumbai a goal and only Amrinder prevented it. He partly redeemed himself with a crucial clearance off an Akash Mishra cross, but the error is hard to overlook.

Freddy Lallawmawma – 6.0/10

Freddy was constantly involved and a persistent threat, but he was the match’s biggest source of frustration.

He missed a massive chance from Kosović’s cross and later sent another shot wide, and his energy was undermined by poor finishing.

Nebojsa Kosović – 7.0/10

Kosović pulled the strings in the midfield, helping the Blasters create chances.

He controlled the tempo in midfield and supplied the best chance of the night with a brilliant cross to Freddy. His own faint shot was comfortably saved by Rehenesh, but his influence on how Kerala built play was clear.

Adrian Luna – 6.5/10

He orchestrated the attack and found pockets of space between Mumbai’s lines. He wasted two good chances, though: a close-range header from Sanan’s cross and a shot over the bar from Sreekuttan’s cutback. He was withdrawn with cramps at 90+1′.

Thingujam Korou Singh – 6.0/10

His runs down the right flank gave Kerala width and stretched Mumbai’s defence.

He lacked a final pass to turn those runs into chances and was substituted at half-time.

Mohammed Sanan – 7.5/10

Sanan got very unlucky with his chances, as he created the most chances for Kerala Blasters.

Kerala’s most dangerous attacker. Sanan took several threatening shots, one saved and one missing by inches, and his crossing was excellent, including the ball that found Luna.

He deserved a goal for his volume of quality contributions.

Momo  Yansané – 5.5/10

A quiet outing that ended early. He was booked for a foul in the attacking half and replaced in the 53rd minute without making a meaningful impact on the game.

Substitutes

Sreekuttan MS – 7.0/10

He raised the attacking tempo after coming on. His cross set up a Sanan header, and his cutback created a chance for Luna that was not converted.

Andre Green – 6.5

Expected to give the attack a sharper edge. He tested Rehenesh with a solid shot in the 81st minute but did not have many other touches of note.

Ebindas – 6.0/10

He made a good run in the closing stages, but he was tackled inside the box just before shooting at 89′, which ended Kerala’s best late opening.

Vibin Mohanan – 5/10

Not enough time on the pitch to be able to make a difference.

Mumbai City FC Player Ratings (By Aaryan)

Rehenesh TP – 7.5/10

A solid performance from the Mumbai City goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet to help the Islanders earn a point away from home.

Had relatively little to do but dealt well with the shots he faced, making the necessary saves and looking comfortable with his distribution. A reassuring performance between the sticks.

Akash Mishra – 6.5/10

Kerala Blasters FC vs Mumbai City FC Player Ratings: Carlos Delgado shines, Yansané disappoints in 2026-27 ISL clash
Akash Mishra had a slow day at the office for Mumbai City FC.

A much-improved performance from the Mumbai City captain after a difficult start to the season.

Made some good overlapping runs down the left and delivered crosses into the box, offering more going forward. Looked more assured than in the opening two games and will look to build on this performance.

Carlos Delgado – 8/10

Rock solid at the back. Excellent with his positioning, consistently dealt with crosses and made crucial clearances to keep Kerala Blasters at bay.

Composed in possession and reliable with his passing, delivering a commanding performance alongside Lazar Ćirković to help Mumbai secure a clean sheet.

Lazar Ćirković – 8/10

Another commanding performance at the heart of Mumbai’s defence. Read the game well, dealt comfortably with crosses and made important clearances when required.

Composed on the ball and dependable throughout, he played a key role in ensuring Mumbai returned home with a point and a clean sheet.

Valpuia – 6/10

A reasonably solid performance at right-back after a disappointing outing in the previous game.

Handled Sanan’s threat reasonably well but was still guilty of giving the ball away too easily at times. Did enough defensively to help Mumbai keep a clean sheet, although there remains room for improvement in possession.

Sergio Llamas – 6.5/10

Not quite at the level of his performances in the opening two games, but remained an important presence in Mumbai’s midfield.

Looked to transition play from midfield to attack and provided composure in possession. Took responsibility for Mumbai’s free kicks and corners following Leandro Otormín’s substitution, adding another dimension to his role in the side.

Puipuia – 7/10

A solid performance in midfield. Started alongside Sergio Llamas in the double pivot and showed composure in possession, consistently looking to play forward and break the opposition’s lines.

Tested the goalkeeper with a few efforts from outside the box and offered a threat from set pieces.

Moved into the No. 10 role following Otormín’s injury and adapted reasonably well before being substituted late in the game.

Leandro Otormín – 6/10

Started as the No. 10 and combined reasonably well with Farukh and Noufal in attack, while also taking Mumbai’s corners.

Had a good opportunity to finish Ajsal’s delivery but was let down by his positioning. He was substituted in the 40th minute after appearing to limp off, raising further concerns over Mumbai’s growing injury list.

Farukh Choudhary – 4/10

One of Mumbai’s most disappointing performers on the pitch. Offered very little going forward, failing to make enough runs into the box, take on defenders or deliver dangerous crosses.

His movement, touches and passing left plenty to be desired, while his pressing was also underwhelming. Was substituted late in the game after a largely ineffective outing.

Noufal – 7/10

One of Mumbai’s most threatening players going forward. Made several dangerous runs from the left flank and consistently looked to take on his marker.

Came close to opening the scoring with a good opportunity but struck his effort straight at Amrinder.

Was less involved in the second half, but his direct approach and attacking intent remained a positive. Still searching for his first goal contribution of the season.

Muhammad Ajsal – 7.5/10

An impressive full debut for Mumbai City FC. Looked sharp and energetic, making excellent runs and getting into promising positions. Had opportunities to score but sent his efforts over the bar. Also played an excellent ball through to Noufal, who could not convert.

With Wilmar Jordan and Vikram facing lengthy injury lay-offs, Ajsal’s performance was an encouraging positive despite Mumbai being unable to find a goal. Was replaced by Hridaya Jain around the 85th minute.

Substitutes

Tluanga – 4/10

A disappointing performance in midfield. Was too conservative in possession, largely limiting himself to sideways and backward passes.

Failed to play enough progressive passes, break Kerala’s lines or contribute meaningfully to Mumbai’s attacking play. Needs to offer more going forward.

Hridaya Jain – 5/10

Came on for Ajsal around the 85th minute but had limited time to make an impact. Did not contribute much in the closing stages as Mumbai looked to find a breakthrough.

Yuvraj Kadam – 5/10

Introduced for Farukh Choudhary late in the game. Had very little time to influence proceedings and made no significant contribution before the final whistle.

Supratim Das – 5/10

Came on for Puipuia in the 90+2nd minute. Had virtually no time to make an impact, with the match ending goalless shortly after his introduction.
