The Islanders begin the ISL 2026 27 campaign with a month-long away run
After months of anticipation and speculation, the Indian Super League (ISL) has finally released the fixtures for the 2026 27 season, albeit only for the first phase. The remaining fixtures, along with the playoff schedule, will be announced at a later date
Mumbai City FC will begin their campaign on October 11 away to ISL debutants Churchill Brothers, before travelling to Delhi and Kochi to face Punjab FC and Kerala Blasters respectively.

Mumbai will spend the entirety of October on the road, with their first three fixtures all coming away from home. The absence of home fixtures in October comes amid blackout dates at the Mumbai Football Arena, with the venue set to host MLBx: Mumbai on October 24, which will feature MLB stars alongside Suryakumar Yadav, with live entertainment also part of the event.
Negotiations with the BMC seem to have paid off, with Mumbai’s first game at the Mumbai Football Arena coming on November 1, when Sporting Club Delhi visit the Islanders. The fixture will be played at 5 PM.
Mumbai play Bengaluru away and conclude November by facing Chennaiyin FC at home.
December kicks off for Mumbai with an away trip to Goa on the 5th, while December 13 will mark the beginning of a run of home games at the venue, with East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, and Inter Kashi scheduled to visit Mumbai before the end of December.

Mumbai City FC handed an unfavorable home schedule?
The fixture list, however, does throw up an interesting scheduling quirk for Mumbai. The Islanders are the only team in the league to have three weekday fixtures scheduled for a 5 PM kick-off in the first phase.
Their games against Chennaiyin FC on Monday, November 30; Mohun Bagan on Thursday, December 17; and Inter Kashi on Monday, December 21 will all get underway at 5 PM. No other side has more than one weekday fixture at that time.
With the majority of the first phase fixtures being scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays following feedback from fans, Mumbai’s three weekday afternoon kick-offs stand out.
The Islanders will only play a 7:30 PM home fixture on January 12, when Odisha FC travel to Mumbai, meaning Mumbai’s first 7:30 PM home kickoff comes almost three months after the season begins on October 10 and more than two months after their first home game. Mumbai’s final home game of the first phase is scheduled for January 17, when NorthEast United visit the MFA, also at 7:30 PM.
For Manolo Márquez’s side, the opening month will therefore be defined by travel, followed by a packed run of home fixtures. Mumbai will have five away games in the first phase, Churchill Brothers, Punjab FC, Kerala Blasters, Bengaluru FC and FC Goa, while seven of their 12 announced fixtures will be played at the MFA.
With the complete calendar still to come, the first phase has nevertheless given Mumbai City FC a clear picture of how their season will begin: three consecutive away games, no home football in October, and a busy run of afternoon kick-offs once the Islanders finally return to the Mumbai Football Arena.
