The Stakes

NorthEast United FC

The Highlanders will return to Guwahati after a ‘not so successful’ outing in Bhubaneswar last week. Juan Pedro Benali’s side missed a last-minute penalty which could’ve won them the game, but will be ever so motivated to get back to winning ways on their home soil.

They have had an encouraging start to the season with two wins and a draw to their name in three outings. Moreover, they sit at the top of the standings with seven points to their name and will be keen to strengthen their position at the top.

Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC on the other hand have also enjoyed greener pastures so far this season. The Blues have secured two wins in two games and are running high on confidence. They arrived in Guwahati after securing a 2-0 win over Chennaiyin FC last week and have had a lot of time to rest before this fixture.

The fact that Jose Munoz’s men have scored five goals across two games speaks volumes about the attacking threat that they possess, and they will be keen to make the most of it against the Highlanders.

Team News

Both teams are expected to field their best XIs on the pitch for this clash.
