SC Delhi complete squad for ISL 2026-27 season
Tomasz Tchorz seeks redemption after a difficult debut.
The 2026-27 Indian Super League season is set to commence at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, where home team Bengaluru FC are set to take on SC Delhi in the ISL opener.
SC Delhi had a tough debut in the Indian Super League last season, finishing third from the bottom of the table. Despite all the difficulties, they were a tough and resilient side to beat, managing five draws and two wins out of thirteen games.
They retained head coach Tomasz Tchorz, who delivered instant results by almost propelling Delhi to the Durand Cup Finals before eventual champions East Bengal got the better of them in penalties. They made a lot of interesting signings ahead of the new season.
Their foreign unit includes players mostly from South America, including the likes of Juan Pena and Duván Viáfara from Colombia. Rodriguinho, the Brazilian striker was in sublime form in the Durand Cup for SC Delhi.
Hnamte, India’s U23 captain, made a high-profile switch from Chennaiyin FC to SC Delhi. Apart from that, David Richard Ndayishimiye from Burundi also joined the capital-based outfit.
They have too many away games in 2026. They will visit home twice against Mohun Bagan and Churchill Brothers this year. The squad looks decent on paper. Many foreign players, however, have no prior experience playing in India, and adaptability can be a big challenge.
