EXCLUSIVE: Bengaluru FC sign versatile Spaniard Borja Martinez on one-year deal

Borja Martinez becomes the first foreign signing of Bengaluru FC ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Bengaluru FC have completed their first foreign signing of the summer by securing the services of Spanish winger Borja Martinez, Khel Now can exclusively reveal.
The 32-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with the Blues and becomes the club’s first overseas addition ahead of the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season under head coach Pep Munoz.
Khel Now understands that Bengaluru FC are expected to add more foreign players over the coming weeks, with the squad set to begin pre-season during the final week of July.
Martinez joins the club as a free agent after most recently representing Spanish third-tier side AD Alcorcón.
A player full of versatility

One of Martinez’s biggest strengths is his versatility.
Although naturally a left winger, the Spaniard has featured in multiple positions throughout his professional career, including both flanks, left back, attacking midfield and even as a second striker when required.
His ability to operate across different areas of the pitch is expected to provide Pep Munoz with greater tactical flexibility throughout the season.

Experienced campaigner from Spanish football

Martinez began his professional journey with Hércules before going on to represent clubs including Espanyol B, Elche, Ibiza and AD Alcorcón.
Across his career, he has made 27 appearances in Spain’s Segunda División and featured eight times in the Copa del Rey, bringing valuable experience from the Spanish football system.
During his most recent spell with Alcorcón, Martinez registered five goal contributions in 33 appearances across all competitions. rate with him, meaning that he can be a reliable option who can strengthen multiple key areas for Bengaluru FC especially keeping in mind the long ISL season.
