Antonio Moyano joins the Highlanders on a one-year deal

NorthEast United FC have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Antonio Moyano on a one-year deal, the club announced today.

Moyano, 26, joins the Highlanders from Diamond Harbour FC, where he spent the 2025–26 season in the Indian Football League, and will link up with the first-team squad ahead of the 2026 27 campaign.

A right-footed box-to-box midfielder standing at 178 cm, Moyano built his game through the La Liga 2, Copa del Rey and Primera Federación Gr. I & II turning out for Córdoba, AD Alcorcón II, Alcorcón, Sabadell and Fuenlabrada, before making the move to Indian football last season.

Antonio Moyano’s journey to Indian football

Born on 13 July 2000 in Montilla, Córdoba, Moyano’s football education began where it always does, in the youth ranks, at Córdoba CF, where a 16-year-old signed his first professional contract. He would go on to debut for the first team against CA Osasuna in 2019, before a journey through Spanish football’s engine room, AD Alcorcón, CE Sabadell, CF Fuenlabrada, sharpened a midfielder who reads the game like a book. Then came a new chapter.

Moyano traded the Iberian Peninsula for the Indian subcontinent, joining Diamond Harbour FC. He adapted almost instantly, making 12 appearances while contributing five goals and four assists.

His standout displays included a Player of the Match performance against Aizawl FC, where he scored twice to send Diamond Harbour to the top of the table.

The first reactions to Moyano’s arrival

Speaking on his move, Antonio Moyano expressed his excitement as he joins the Highlanders.
