The Red Miners have had a satisfactory recruitment session as they gear up to better their tally in the upcoming season.

Jamshedpur FC faltered in a lacklustre ISL 2023-24 season as they finished 11th in the league. The Men of Steel won only five games while losing 11 times.

Khalid Jamil took over midway through last season at a time when the side were languishing at the bottom with only two wins. The club decided to repay his faith with a two-year contract extension and allow him the chance to turn them into title contenders once again.

Taking charge at the helm, Jamil has already made bold moves in the transfer market, acquiring Javi Siverio and Hernandez while letting go of star players like T.P. Rehenesh and Daniel Chima Chukwu. His decisions however have paid off as his preferred eleven beat Assam Rifles in the Durand Cup by a comfortable 3-0 margin despite fielding a side brimming with youngsters.

While Mohammed Sanan and Imran Khan will be ones to watch for the future, Jamshedpur’s recruitments also have the potential to make an impact. Let us now look at all the transfers completed by Jamshedpur FC so far in the 2024-2025 summer window.

Incomings

Javi Siverio

Khalid Jamil brought the agile Spanish striker on board via a loan from East Bengal in the winter window last season and was instrumental for his side, scoring thrice in eight appearances. Siverio’s player profile makes him the ideal candidate to lead Jamil’s offensive line and has been permanently recruited.

Jordan Murray

After two seasons, the Australian striker reunited with the Red Miners and will be a vital cog for the side. Murray plied his trade with Chennaiyin FC in the last campaign notching seven goals and four assists in 29 appearances.

Javi Hernandez

35-year-old Javi Hernandez shows no signs of slowing down as Jamshedpur FC is going to be his fourth team in the ISL. The silky Spaniard scored 15 goals for Bengaluru FC in the last two seasons and will be bringing his coveted playmaking and finishing skills to his current side.

Stephan Eze

Another returning player, Stephan Eze had an outstanding season last time out with the Red Miners. The Nigerian center-back scored four goals alongside making a league-highest 61 interceptions and will be hoping to recreate or better that tally this time.

Ashutosh Mehta

Khalid Jamil took one of the biggest gambles by allowing Ashutosh Mehta a chance in his project. The senior right-back was out of action following a two-year doping ban and it remains to be seen whether he remains the solid defender he once was.

Aniket Jadhav

The ISL Cup and Super Cup-winning winger is back at the club following successful stints with Hyderabad, East Bengal, and Odisha FC. Although Jadhav hasn’t had much in terms of goal contributions, it is his movement and work rate that will make most of the difference.

Mobashir Rehman

Mobashir is another player who has been given a chance at redemption by the generous manager. With a questionable disciplinary record and dismal performances at East Bengal and Chennaiyin, he has till date played his best football with the Men of Steel.

Sreekuttan VS

The 2018 Santosh Trophy winner with Kerala decided to test out his mettle with Jamshedpur FC after three seasons with former I-League winners Gokulam Kerala FC

Nishchal Chandan

Former Churchill Brothers centre-half, Chandan, will be a solid reinforcement in the defensive department for Jamshedpur FC.

Sourav Das

Sourav’s versatility in midfield was the primary point of attraction as the Red Miners secured the former Mumbai City and East Bengal player.

Albino Gomes

Former Sreenidi shot-stopper Albino Gomes will be part of the Men of Steel’s huge six-man goalkeeping department as his role in the squad remains unclear.

Shubham Sarangi

Odisha’s trustworthy Shubham Sarangi was brought in to strengthen Jamshedpur’s right-back area. The 24-year-old will give good competition to veteran Mehta and youngster Nikhil Barla.

Amrit Gope

Gope will most likely be Rakshit Dagar’s understudy for the season as the 24-year-old goalkeeper is one of the more distinguishable parts of a six-man department.

Outgoings

Alen Stevanovic

Former Serie-A winner with Inter Milan, Stevanovic, was destined for much greater things upon his arrival last season. 16 games and zero goal contributions later the club decided to part ways with the Swiss-Serbian midfielder.

Daniel Chima Chukwu

Jamshedpur fans were dispirited at the departure of one of the club’s best-ever players in Nigerian powerhouse Daniel Chima Chukwu. The hulking striker scored a whopping 21 goals for the Red Miners and has now pledged his loyalty to Chennaiyin FC.

Elsinho

Elsinho played a majority of the club’s fixtures at centre-back last season, but was unable to leave a mark as he joined Chima Chukwu at Chennaiyin FC.

Jeremy Manzorro

Midfielder Jeremey Manzorro left for ISL champions Mumbai City FC after a fruitful season with the Red Miners. The Frenchman scored five goals and got one assist in 20 appearances for the Men of Steel.

TP Rehenesh

Another Jamshedpur FC icon, goalkeeping stalwart TP Rehenesh joined Manzorro at Mumbai City FC after helping them to an ISL League Winners’ Shield winner in the 2021/22 season.

Komal Thatal

India’s brightest talent from the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup side, Thatal has moved to Chennaiyin FC II in search of a turnaround. Touted for great things, the five-star skilled winger hasn’t exactly hit the ground running in seven seasons of playing in the ISL.

Provat Lakra

The left-back had a tough time with Jamshedpur picking up five yellow cards in 15 appearances last season in the ISL and decided to move to his hometown side East Bengal to improve his tally.

PC Laldinpuia

Versatile defender Laldinpuia moved to Chennaiyin FC after two seasons with Jamshedpur FC after the club decided they had better options.
