The Black Panthers are gearing up to face the Tuskers in a challenging away fixture.

Andrey Chernyshov’s Mohammedan SC is set to face Kerala Blasters in their upcoming match in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. With both teams entering the game on the back of consecutive defeats in their recent fixtures, the clash promises to be an exciting encounter, as both the Tuskers and the Black Panthers are hungry for victory.

Mohammedans head coach Andrey Chernyshov, commenting on his side not securing a victory in their last eight league games, said “These situations are normal in football. Even Manchester City could not secure a win in their last 10 games.

Andrey Chernyshov thoughts

“Sometimes it happens, but you need to continue the hard work, you need to make the players understand that change comes only from efforts. We spoke with them about how we can turn things around and they understood. I believe in my players. They are very professional and I am happy to work with them. They want to give their best for this club.”

“However this is football, you can be better in many matches but still you may not win.  It’s about motivation and they need to play for the club. They need to play for themselves, their family, their future and this is the motivation in football life,” said Andrey Chernyshov.

Mohammedan SC have conceded a lot of goals in the dying seconds, which have often altered the narrative of the game. Andrey Chernyshov, reacting on his side’s issue in defence, stated, “It is true that we concede many goals during the last minutes. However, it is about the experience and concentration of our players in the final minutes. We tend to get exhausted quickly towards the last minutes compared to other teams.”

“Sometimes, out of emotions, they look to win the game by charging too much up front and fail to track back on time. These are the games they could have also kept a draw. However, it is different in every game and at times things are not in our hands. We need to be more serious in defence than before,” said Andrey Chernyshov.

The Russian head coach, reflecting on his team’s position in the league. “From my very first press conference, I’ve said that we should try to play good football in every match. We should try to win and climb up the table but never would I say that top six has been our target.”

“Our target is to make one strong team in the next two to three seasons and start to fight for a good position in the championship. I am not stupid to say that we will win ISL in the very first season with an inexperienced squad. All we think about is the next match. Now we are at the bottom of the table and our target is to escape from there. It is very important for us to avoid a bottom table finish,” claimed Andrey Chernyshov.
