The midfielder was recently brought on loan to Mohammedan SC.
The race for the playoffs and the league shield continues in the Indian Super League as Bengaluru FC are ready to host Andrey Chernyshov’s Mohammedan SC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru on 11th January 2025.
Bengaluru FC are in the second spot while Mohammedan SC are at the bottom of the table. A win would mean that Bengaluru retain their second spot but Mohammedan SC will not give up without putting up a strong fight.
West Bengal’s Santosh Trophy-winning star, Robi Hansda, had signed a six-month loan deal with Mohammedan Sporting Club recently.
Mohammedan SC’s head coach Andrey Chernyshov spoke about their latest signing of Mohammedan SC.
Andrey Chernyshov’s thoughts
“I always tell my players that it doesn’t matter which country you’re from or how old you are, If you are a quality player, you will get to play. For example, look at Adison, he showed his quality during the practice and then he made his way to the team. These players know my philosophy style. It doesn’t matter if you’re a foreigner or Indian player, what’s important is the quality,” Andrey Chernyshov said.
“Robi just joined us a few days ago and had his first practice session yesterday. However, the training session was more focused on recovery. Yesterday he worked with the group. He is a good player. Because You cannot be a bad player and score so many goals in Santos Trophy because it’s a difficult tournament.”
Robi created history by surpassing Mohammed Habib’s record to become the highest goal scorer for West Bengal in the Santosh Trophy, scoring 12 goals in a single season
“He is a good player, but also he needs time for adaptation with us. He needs to take our philosophy, and what we want from him. He needs to understand. This also needs time. And also you must understand what I said before. There is a gap between the Santosh Trophy and ISL too,” Andrey Chernyshov stated
“About that he also needs to take this rhythm. And he would also need time for the adjustment. For me, it doesn’t matter whether from Spain or Thailand, If you have come to the ISL you need to have time for adaptation, to the lifestyle and since He is a local player, he knows the Indian lifestyle and the mindset.”
“But now he will work in a different rhythm, with other players who have different lifestyles and mindsets. He needs time for this adaptation. But we know he is a good player and we hope he will be able to adapt to our conditions as soon as possible,” Andrey Chernyshov concluded
