Gerard Zaragoza emphasizes on young players being targeted.
Bengaluru FC continue to grapple with injury concerns as key players remain sidelined. Bengaluru FC are going to lock horns with Punjab FC in an exciting clash. Head coach Gerard Zaragoza believes young players being targeted by opposition teams.
Shivaldo Singh got injured during the Durand Cup and is still recovering. The 20-year-old midfielder has yet to recover fully, prolonging his absence as the team heads into another crucial Indian Super League (ISL) fixture at their fortress.
“We still have Shivaldo out for a while, and I will once again like to reiterate that it is the youngsters who are getting targeted,” Zaragoza said, expressing his concern at the situation. “An act of aggression means he has been out since the Durand Cup, which is unfortunate,” Gerard Zaragoza added.
The Blues fans, as well as the Bengaluru FC camp, are also keeping an eye on and monitoring the fitness of midfielder Ryan Willams, who is recovering from an injury that kept him out for the last few matches. The manager hinted at the possibility of Ryan Williams’s return, though his involvement in the upcoming match remains uncertain.

“Apart from Shivaldo, we are trying to see if Ryan can be ready for this game,” Gerard Zaragoza explained. “If not tomorrow, then he will hopefully be ready for the next one.”
As the Blues are preparing for another fixture at their fortress tomorrow (Friday) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, the absence of young Shivaldo adds pressure to a squad that has already been relying on its younger players to step up.
From the start of this season, the team’s performances looked quite promising, but Zargoza’s comments shed light on the concerns about the physical toll on young emerging talents.
With the ISL season back in action from the short international break and gathering pace, the team’s injury woes will surely be a critical factor in their upcoming games.
Fans will be hoping for Ryan’s quick recovery and a swift return for Shivaldo Singh to bolster the squad. The additional responsibilty will lie on the shoulders of young talents Vinith Venkatesh and Monirul Molla.
