ISL 2024-25: Bengaluru FC's season so far in numbers

Bengaluru FC will play FC Goa in the Semi Finals tie as they look to win their second ISL Cup!
Bengaluru FC’s 5-0 win against Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League knockout game last Saturday was a statement in itself. Fighting for the ISL Shield early on, BFC failed to get results mid-season, falling out of the title picture.
However, Gerrard Zaragoza’s Blues regained their form in the final few games, managing to finish third in the league stage. The knockout game against the defending ISL Cup winners was certainly daunting. But Bengaluru FC dominated Mumbai City at their fortress – the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, punching their ticket for the semifinal.
Up next, Sunil Chhetri and company are set to go up against FC Goa, a side that picked up four points against them in the league stage. Manolo Marquez’s Gaurs have become better and better with every passing game and hence this two-legged will not be easy for Bengaluru FC.
While FC Goa might be the favourites on paper, Bengaluru FC are no pushovers. Here is BFC’s journey in numbers so far in the 2024-25 ISL season…
13 – Bengaluru FC’s Captain-Leader-Legend is their highest scorer in the 2024-25 ISL season at the age of 40 with 13 goals to his name. Chhetri is also the highest Indian goalscorer this season and is second on the list to win the golden boot.

56.3% – Given they have a Spanish head coach, it’s no surprise that Bengaluru FC like to keep hold of the ball. BFC have an average ball possession of 56.3% in the ISL this season, the second highest in the league.
9 – Nine different players have stepped up to find the back of the net for the Blues this season. Sunil Chhetri, Edgar Mendez, Ryan Williams, Alberto Noguera, Jorge Diaz, Rahul Bheke, Suresh Wangjam, Naorem Roshan Singh, and Vinith Venkatesh have scored for BFC in this ISL season.
27 – With 27 goals scored at home in 13 league games, BFC have scored the most goals at home so far this season.
327.7 – Gerrard Zaragoza’s side averaged 327.7 passes per game, only second to Mumbai City. To add to this, they also have a pass success ratio of 80.1%.
6 – Bengaluru FC have been awarded six penalties so far in this ISL season, the joint-most among all the clubs. BFC scored from five of the six penalties that they got.
9 – BFC started the season with five clean sheets back-to-back and they have registered a total of nine clean sheets from 25 ISL games this season. Only Mohun Bagan (15 clean sheets) and Mumbai City (10 clean sheets) have a better defensive record.
4 –The Blues completed the double over both Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters this season winning all four league games. This got Bengaluru FC their bragging rights as they showed their dominance in the Southern rivalry fixtures.
