Both Bengaluru FC and FC Goa have played out memorable semifinal ties in the past!

We are down to their last four teams in the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season as the semi finals kick-off today. Bengaluru FC will host FC Goa at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium with their fans set to back the Blues once again after their dominant 5-0 win over Mumbai City last week.

FC Goa have had a memorable ISL campaign so far having finished second in the league. Manolo Marquez’s side picked up 14 wins from 24 league games and if not for their slow start, the Gaurs might have even edged Mohun Bagan SG to win their second ISL Shield.

Bengaluru FC vs FC Goa What to expect?

Both sides are coached by Spanish coaches and hence we can expect a tactical, possession based game. Bengaluru FC’s Ryan Williams and FC Goa’s Iker Guarrotxena might as well be the wildcards for their respective sides as both the player’s have enjoyed a decent season.

Gerard Zaragoza’s side will have their hands full tonight as Manolo Marquez’s have scored in 23 of their 24 ISL games this season. Bengaluru FC seem to have found their defensive mojo back and hence this game will be about the resilience of their back four and if they can keep the Gaurs at bay.

Head-to-Head Record between Bengaluru FC and FC Goa

The head-to-head record between these two clubs has been quite balanced over the years, however Bengaluru FC do edge this slightly over the Gaurs. Here is the overall H2H record between the two clubs:

Total Games in all competitions: 19

Bengaluru FC wins: 7

FC Goa wins: 6

Draws: 6

Arguably the most high-profile match between these two entertaining teams was the 2019 ISL final. Bengaluru FC had the last laugh on that night as Rahul Bheke’s header in the dying minutes of extra time won the Blues their only ISL Cup till date.

However, taking only the Sree Kanteerava Stadium into consideration, FC Goa might have a problem in their hands. The Blues have shown dominance at home, winning four games and settling for a draw twice against the former ISL Shield winners.

Hence, if Goa are to win in Bengaluru tonight, this will be their historic first win at the venue.
