Brandon Fernandes bagged the man of the match award.
FC Goa booked their place in the Indian Super League (ISL) semi-finals thanks in large part to a moment of magic from their captain, Brandon Fernandes. Brandon stepped up to deliver a goal that will be remembered for a long time.
In the 45th minute, left-back Jay Gupta found Fernandes with a searching pass. The Goa skipper, displaying his leadership qualities, took matters into his own hands. He weaved past Chennaiyin defenders with a powerful run, leaving the midfielder in his wake.
With defenders scrambling, Brandon Fernandes unleashed a sensational strike from outside the box. The ball rocketed towards goal, finding the top right corner with unerring accuracy. The Chennaiyin keeper could only watch in despair as the net rippled.
Bradon Fernandes’ wonder goal proved to be the winner. His moment of brilliance sent the Goa fans into a frenzy and ensured their progression to the next stage. The strike was a perfect example of Fernandes’ technical ability and leadership, proving why he is considered one of the best midfielders in the ISL.
