Kerala Blasters FC aim for their first point of ISL 2025-26 season against East Bengal FC away from home

Kerala Blasters have lost all four of their matches in ISL 2025-26.

The Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 action heads back to the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata, as East Bengal FC are all geared up to host Kerala Blasters FC. The match is scheduled to take place on the 14th of March 2026 and will kick off at 5:00 PM.

East Bengal FC, with two wins, a loss and a draw, are currently in the 5th position of the group table with seven points. Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters, having lost all four of their matches, are placed in the 13th position with zero points in hand.

While the hosts step onto the pitch following a 0-0 draw against FC Goa, the visiting side is coming with a disappointing 1-0 loss against Chennaiyin FC. With both teams eyeing a win, East Bengal to move to the top three, and Blasters to remain as far as possible from the relegation trap, the match between the Torch Bearers and the Tuskers will be an exciting one to watch.

The Stakes

East Bengal FC

Super Cup 2025: East Bengal's road to final

The hosts, East Bengal FC, started their ISL campaign strongly by defeating NorthEast United 3-0. In their next match, they locked horns with SC Delhi, where they registered a comfortable 4-1 victory. However, in their next two matches, they have had rather disappointing results.

In their third match, they faced Jamshedpur FC, where they faced the first loss of the season. In their latest match, they had to settle for a 0-0 deadlock against FC Goa. The Torch Bearers will be looking forward to coming back to winning ways at home, which would take them to the third spot, taking them out of the middle table battle. Hence, coming onto the game, East Bengal will be expecting nothing short of three points at VYBK.

Kerala Blasters FC

Kerala Blasters FC have not had the best ISL season so far. Even though they made a complete overhaul of their squad, bringing in six foreigners to their side, the lack of quality, especially in the final third, kept them away from getting points. This has led to them losing all the matches played so far, and they are currently 13th. The Tuskers are at high risk of relegation if they fail to pick up points in their upcoming matches.

Hence, the match against East Bengal, a tougher opponent than the Blasters have faced in their previous matches, will be a do-or-die to ensure that the club does not become the first team to be relegated from the ISL.

Team News

As of now, there are no major injury concerns or suspensions for either Kerala Blasters FC or East Bengal FC for their upcoming clash, providing Oscar Bruzon and David Catala with the autonomy to use the full roster for the important clash.

Predicted Lineup

East Bengal FC (4-5-1)

Gill; Rakip, Jeakson Singh, Anwar Ali, Lalchungnunga; Edmund, Miguel Figueira, Mohammed Rashid, Mahesh Singh, Bipin Singh; Youssef Ezzejjari

Kerala Blasters FC (4-3-3)

Arsh Sheikh; Naocha Singh, Ndiaye Fallou, Matias Hernandes, Aiban; Vibin Mohanan, Marlon, Danish Farooq; Nihal Sudeesh, Mohammed Ajsal, Victor

Player To Watch Out For

East Bengal FC – Youssef Ezzejjari

Youssef Ezzejjari, the number nine of East Bengal, will be the player to watch out for in their match against Kerala Blasters FC. The 32-year-old Spaniard, who has arguably been the best performer for the Torchbearers, will be playing a major role in bringing East Bengal back to winning ways. With four goals in the last four matches, he has been instrumental in the wins against NorthEast United FC and SC Delhi.

Even though he failed to demonstrate a benchmark performance in the last two matches, the striker would be looking forward to netting goals against Blasters, who have been relatively underperforming, to secure all three points for East Bengal FC at home.

Kerala Blasters FC – Ndiaye Fallou

The latest recruit of the Blasters, Ndiaye Fallou, will be the player to watch out for in the match against East Bengal FC. The defensive lapses of Kerala Blasters have been the key reason why they have not been performing well in the tournament.

A lack of proper coordination in the defensive third meant that the Blasters conceded six goals in just four matches. Here is where Ndiaye Fallou comes in as a defensive reinforcement for the Tuskers.

With a decent experience playing in the top-tier European leagues, the defender can bring in compactness and defensive maturity in the Kerala Blasters’ backline. With a good presence of mind, if he can adapt well under the Indian conditions, he could very well mitigate the silly mistakes made by the Tuskers’ defensive unit in their first four matches.
