FC Goa are thrilled to announce the return of forward Aaren D’Silva, on a short-term deal that will see him wear the Club’s iconic orange till the end of the ongoing 2024-25 season.

“It’s always an honour to play for FC Goa,” Aaren expressed, after putting pen to paper for the Gaurs. “This isn’t just my hometown club – it’s one of the biggest teams in India. I’ve been a fan of the Club since the ISL began, and being able to wear this shirt again means so much to me.

“As a footballer, I want to continue improving as a player, stay true to my work ethic and contribute in any role the coach assigns me. Coach Manolo has always been a driving force in my development, both on and off the pitch. He’s like a father figure to me, pushing me to grow and excel. Playing under him is challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Reflecting on his recent experience as a fan in the stands, the 27-year-old added, “Watching the fans at the last home match against Mohun Bagan Super Giant gave me goosebumps! I’m excited to give my all for the team and the Club in this new chapter of my career.”

Aaren D’Silva’s journey with FC Goa started in 2017 when he joined the Club’s Development Team from Sesa Football Academy. With the young Gaurs, he lifted the Goa Professional League title in 2019 and the Goa Police Cup in 2020, before getting promoted to the First Team ahead of the 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL) season.

The following year, the forward joined Hyderabad FC, where he played under then-Head Coach Manolo Marquez. During his stint with the Nawabs, he made 39 appearances, contributing four goals and an assist – and most notably, being part of the squad that lifted the ISL Cup in the 2021-22 season.

“Aaren is a great addition to the squad,” remarked FC Goa Head Coach Manolo Marquez who now reunites with the player after their stint together at Hyderabad.

“He’s strong in the air, physically imposing, and has great technique. His ability to score goals and adapt to different situations will be a tremendous asset for us. It’s also wonderful to see him return to his home club.”

FC Goa’s Director of Football, Lokesh Bherwani, further shared his perspective on the signing, stating, “Aaren’s return comes at an important time for us. His versatility and experience make him a valuable addition to the squad as we navigate the challenges of the season.

“We’ve built a well-rounded squad with a strong mix of domestic and foreign talent. Aaren now brings depth to our attacking options, and we’re confident he will make a positive impact during his time with us.”
