Mohammedan SC have only secured a single point from their last fixtures.

Indian Super League side FC Goa, who are currently placed second in the league table behind the 2024-25 season’s ISL Shield winners, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, will be taking on a low-lying Mohammedan SC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Tuesday evening.

Both clubs will be willing to put more emphasis on their individual future pathways now that the regular season is almost at its hiatus. Mohammedan SC will learn their fair share from their first ISL season, while the Gaurs will be eager to add three more points to their total as they go on to the knockout stages.

The Stakes

FC Goa

The Gaurs will want to finish their season with a victory over the ISL rookies, since they have already guaranteed their spot in the playoffs. Marquez will have the chance to make some changes to his starting lineup with two games left in their season before the intense playoffs.Goa is anticipated to play with a rotating squad, but the Spaniard may have another strategy in mind. The team has a chance to generate additional winning momentum against the Black Panthers after they were unable to defeat them in their last ISL match.

Mohammedan SC

The Black Panthers are playing for pride and will be keen to spoil the party for FC Goa on Tuesday evening. With two games remaining in their season, the club will have the opportunity to give a good account of themselves against a team already qualified for the playoff and have been phenomenal throughout.

Andrey Chernyshov will be keen to try his luck and get at least a point, like they did against the Gaurs back in September, even if Mohammedan SC is anticipated to present a formidable team. In their home field, they put in a commendable effort in their second game of the season.

Injury and Team News

The Black Panthers will be missing the service of Mohammed Kadiri, who was ruled out for the season after suffering a collateral ligament tear injury. On the contrary, the Gaurs are expected to have a fully fit and healthy roster available for selection.

Players to watch out

Armando Sadiku (FC Goa)

The Albanian talisman has had a fairytale season with the Gaurs so far. The former Mohun Bagan Super Giant forward has already scored 9 goals for FC Goa this season and will be willing to add more to his tally.

In their previous meeting with the debutants, Armando Sadiku scored the only goal for the Gaurs in the 1-1 draw played at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata back in September. He has been a lethal dummy runner, and with his finely tuned positioning orchestrated by his quick off-the-ball movements, the visitors will be putting in all their efforts to prevent this man from coming within the proximity of the 18-yard box.

Alexis Gomez (Mohammedan SC)

In an incredibly difficult season, Mohammedan SC’s lone bright point has been the Argentine trequartista. Alexis Gomez has maintained his position and has put in strong performances, but the rest of the team has found it difficult to put together compelling performances.

A sight to behold, the 24-year-old is renowned for his ball-playing moves, vision, and inventiveness. Gomez has helped out with a goal and an assist in 20 games this season. He is in charge of orchestrating the midfield, and the Gaurs’ defense may have to endure a difficult game, falling prey to his honed accuracy and vision.
