ISL 2024-25: Full updated squad of FC Goa
The Gaurs have a lot of quality players who are good enough to challenge for the title.
FC Goa are one of the teams to watch out for in the upcoming season of the Indian Super League. The 2024-25 season could see the Gaurs finally lifting a major trophy under their head coach Manolo Marquez who will be in his second season with the club following his move from Hyderabad FC in 2023.
The Spanish tactician, who is also serving simultaneously as the Indian senior men’s head coach, has previously won the ISL playoffs with Hyderabad FC, earning heaps of praise for his work with the young Indian players. His expertise and FCG’s ambitious moves in the transfer market can finally propel the club to lift the title in the upcoming season. They won the ISL Shield back in 2019-20 and have been hunting for a trophy ever since.
The expectation from the fans would be to see FC Goa challenge for both the ISL Shield and Trophy in the 2024-25 term. Considering the squad depth, the quality of the newcomers and the experience of the head coach with Indian football, the Gaurs could be a real force to reckon with.
Eyes will be on the likes of Laxmikant Kattimani in goal while Sandesh Jhingan’s presence in defence would provide ample cover. Odei Onaindia’s experience and Jay Gupta’s energy can further aid the defensive department. Midfield options are decent too as Borja Herrera and Carl McHugh headline a talented crop of players.
The forward department of FCG is likely to be the most impactful. The arrival of Armando Sadiku and Dejan Drazic has made the fans jump with excitement. Players like Boris Singh, Mohammed Yasir, Iker Guarrotxena and more can also deliver match-winning performances.
As the start of the new campaign approaches, here is a look at the complete FC Goa squad for the 2024-25 season:
