The Nizams are struggling for goals in the ongoing ISL 2024-25.

Under head coach Thangboi Singto, Hyderabad FC faced off against Khalid Jamil’s Jamshedpur FC in ISL 2024-25 Gameweek 5, a team currently in the top half of the table. Despite dominating most of the game, Hyderabad FC lost 2-1. It was a similar story to their matches against Punjab FC and Chennaiyin FC, where the team’s overall performance was solid, but they struggled to convert it into three points.

Hyderabad FC are currently 12th in the ISL 2024-25 standings and to improve their position they need to score more goals. The club’s new owners, the BC Jindal Group, stepped in just in time for the season, but with multiple FIFA and AIFF transfer bans in place until the end of the summer transfer window, they could only sign free agents to build their squad.

“Hopefully, we have another striker coming in. Hopefully, he’ll be at least on the bench for the next match against Mohammedan Sporting. If he comes down, at least we have an option to rotate a bit,” said head coach Thangboi Singto after their narrow loss to Jamshedpur FC.

Khel Now can reveal that Hyderabad FC have completed the signing of former AS Saint-Etienne forward Edmilson Correia.

“Hyderabad FC have signed former Guinea-Bissau U-23 international forward Edmilson Correia and the club are working to bring him into team training as soon as possible,” said a source tracking the transfer.

Correia was scouted by renowned French manager Claude Puel and his staff before joining Ligue 1 club AS Saint-Etienne in 2019. The scouts were impressed with Correia’s potential, noting his powerful play, impressive bursts of speed and strong finishing abilities.

“Edmilson Correia is just 24-years-old and has all the talent to be a great player for Hyderabad FC. His time with AS Saint-Etienne was cut short due to injuries, but if Hyderabad FC can keep him fit, he will score goals for them,” added the source.

Correia played only seven matches for AS Saint-Etienne’s first-team, scoring once. However, he featured 41 times for their B team, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist. After leaving France, Correia moved to the second division Qatari club Al Bidda SC, where he played 14 matches and scored five goals.
