Hyderabad FC scored their first goal of the season.

Jamshedpur FC secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Thangboi Singto‘s Hyderabad FC in their home match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on 21st October, putting them in second place in the Indian Super League (ISL) table.

The match between Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC was a closely contested affair, with both teams displaying agility and skill. But Jamshedpur FC’s ability to capitalize on their scoring opportunities was the most important factor in securing the victory.

Despite scoring their first goal of the season, Hyderabad FC could not overcome Jamshedpur FC’s strong performance. The loss extended their winless streak and highlighted the challenges they face in their upcoming matches.

Addressing the challenges and providing possible solutions, Hyderabad FC coach Thangboi Singto spoke to the media

“I think in my ninth season of ISL, the first 30 minutes were one of the best football that we have played, by far. I don’t know what happened after 30 minutes, that’s a different story. But the first 30 minutes before Jamshedpur were caught, we were playing, we were controlling, pushing Jamshedpur to the back.

“But football is about concentration and a bit of communication. I feel that the lack of communication or staying in two minds in the back led to that cross happening and from there with that movement. And not tracking Rei Tachikawa who was running for a tap-in, not following him was another mistake.”

“Hence defensively, we have done well but we can do much better. We need to be sharper because if we don’t concede then the result could have been better. If we look at the positive side we have scored our first goal of the season, though we lost,” Thangboi Singto added.

“I know, today I was very down because when you play well when the boys do exactly what you have to, for 30 minutes and then for a moment they forget it, you think that what else can I do, what else we can do as the coaching staff.

“It will be a very difficult sleep today because, you know, at least a point, the last cross from Rabeeh, if somebody was there just to tap in, we could have scored one point. Again, Jamshedpur FC are a tough team, good team, one point would have been good enough for us,” Thangboi Singto opined.

Possible Solutions

Speaking about the addition of a new striker in the coming days Thangboi Singto also stated the possible changes he can make to get back Hyderabad FC to winning ways.

“Hopefully, we have another striker coming in. Hopefully, he’ll be at least on the bench for the next match against Mohamedan Sporting. So, if he comes down, at least we have an option to rotate a bit. But, the Indian players we have, I think some of the boys stepped up today. Ramhlunchhunga especially, what a game he had today.

“He is the shortest guy, but he was all around the pitch and had some good shots on target. I think, yeah, we need to be more clinical because football is about goals. If you want three goals, you need to score goals. We scored, but Jamshedpur scored two. So, hopefully, next match we go better prepared and don’t concede and score, that’s it,” Thangboi Singto explained.

“I think we need to be more hungry. They are hungry, but the young players need to learn fast and quickly and get goals when the opportunity comes. You see, I think Andrei Alba, our defensive midfielder, came very late, you know, so he’s not in his best physical condition, and yet he went up to play until the 75th minute.

“He gave it all, so we need a little bit of fresh legs and we have players who are quick, sharp up front. And there was a creation of few opportunities which he went again. So it was sort of a, I can say it was a pre-plan because we know that if the foreigners would, it would still be difficult to last 90 minutes,” Thangboi Singto concluded.
