A sold-out JRD Tata Sports Complex hosted its first-ever ISL Semi-Final match in eight years.

According to multiple sources, Jamshedpur FC also filed an official complaint to AIFF and FSDL regarding the derogatory and vulgar fan behaviour from the travelling fans after the fiasco that happened in the first leg ISL Semi Final fixture in the Furnace.

Reports suggest that the JFC management also attached multiple pieces of evidence, including CCTV footage, statements and more in their complaint. These submissions reportedly include visual proof capturing the unruly behaviour from various angles within the stadium premises. Moreover, eyewitness testimonies from stadium staff and security personnel have further strengthened the credibility of the complaint filed.

In a high-octane match like the ISL Semi-Finals, passions and emotions run high from both sets of fans. To avoid any conflict, Jamshedpur FC issued a guideline in their official social media handles to designate a special away stand for the travelling fans from Kolkata to facilitate a smooth experience. However, an unexpected turn of events saw a clash between the travellers and the police personnel.

Jamshedpur FC previously issued a precautionary guideline to designate a stand for the away fans, aiming to ensure their safety and create a structured matchday experience. The tweet read, “To ensure a smooth matchday experience, all travelling Mohun Bagan SG fans are advised to purchase tickets for the designated Away Stand only (South West Upper) at The Furnace.”

Mohun Bagan also issued a statement

Amidst disturbing visuals of injured and hospitalised travelling fans surfacing on social media, Mohun Bagan released an official statement from their X account to express their concerns after the violence inflicted on their travelling supporters.

“We at Mohun Bagan strongly condemn the unjust behaviour and aggression of several security and management personnel at the away stand of the JRD Tata Sports Complex on 03.04.2025. We must all remember that football is nothing without fans,” the statement read.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant also expressed their deepest concerns after reports of some of the travelling fans being hospitalized surfaced on Social Media. The ISL Shield Winners took to social media and released an official statement to condemn any such attacks on the away fans.

Khalid Jamil’s men are 90 minutes away from creating history

After a valiant performance in the first leg, Jamshedpur FC now has a slender lead against the ISL Shield Winners. Jose Molina would be keen to turn around his team’s fortunes in Kolkata in front of the loud and vociferous Mohun Bagan fans.

Khalid Jamil, on the other hand, has this rare golden opportunity to etch his name into the history books. If Jamshedpur FC could put a clean sheet or hold Mohun Bagan to a draw, he would become the first Indian coach in the decade-long history of the ISL to take a side into the Finals. A ninety-minute or more thriller awaits us in the Mecca of Indian Football as Jamshedpur FC battle it out against the ISL Shield Winners, Mohun Bagan, as a place in the ISL Finals is at stake.
