ISL 2025–26: SC Delhi sign twins Mohammed Aimen & Mohammed Azhar from Kerala Blasters

Twin brothers reunite with former youth coach Tomasz Tchórz at Sporting Club Delhi.

After months of uncertainty, the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025–26 season is finally set to kick off on 14 February. Most ISL clubs have started looking for transfer opportunities to improve their squads.

Khel Now can reveal that Sporting Club Delhi are set to complete the signing of twin brothers Mohammed Aimen and Mohammed Azhar from Kerala Blasters.

Both players will reunite with head coach Tomasz Tchórz, who worked closely with them during their formative years at the Kerala Blasters academy and youth teams. Tchórz played a key role in their transition towards senior football, and the chance to work under him again, with the promise of regular first-team minutes, proved decisive for the twins.

Kerala Blasters extended the contracts of Aimen and Azhar in 2023 until the end of the 2025–26 season. However, with uncertainty surrounding Indian football and neither player featuring in David Català’s plans for the upcoming campaign, all parties agreed to mutually terminate the contracts. This will allow the brothers to join SC Delhi as free agents.

“Kerala Blasters had only around six months remaining on the contracts of Mohammed Aimen and Azhar. With both players not in the plans of the head coach, David Català, and keen to play under Tomasz Tchórz, it made sense for all sides to part ways,” a source tracking the transfer told Khel Now.

The move gives Sporting Club Delhi, which rebranded from Hyderabad FC ahead of the 2025–26 season, its first major Indian signings of the new ISL cycle. Aimen arrives after an impressive run with the India U-23 team, while Azhar brings depth and balance in midfield.

Mohammed Aimen: Wing threat and creativity

Aimen moved to Kerala for schooling and joined the Kerala Blasters Academy in 2018 alongside his twin brother. He progressed through the U-15 and U-18 teams before gaining senior exposure with the reserves, where he featured in the Reliance Foundation Development League and scored twice.

His early development included appearances at the Next Gen Cup in the UK and a three-week training stint with Polish top-flight side Raków Częstochowa in 2022. Aimen first broke into wider attention during the 2022 Durand Cup, scoring three goals and registering an assist in five matches.

Since then, he has made 30 ISL appearances for Kerala Blasters, scoring once and providing four assists, and has featured in playoff matches as well. Across all competitions, he accumulated 60 senior appearances, with the Durand Cup remaining his most productive tournament.

In the 2024–25 season, Aimen, who can play on both wings, demonstrated noticeable maturity, contributing 2 goals and 5 assists across competitions. He also earned 10 caps for the India U-23 side, scoring twice during the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Mohammed Azhar: Control and discipline in midfield

Born on 20 January 2003 in Lakshadweep, Azhar followed the same academy pathway as his brother after joining Kerala Blasters in 2018. He featured regularly at youth level before playing for the reserves in national competitions.

Azhar’s breakthrough came during the 2022 Durand Cup, where he completed every minute across five matches and recorded two assists. He later trained with Raków Częstochowa and made his senior debut in August 2023.

In the ISL, Azhar has featured in 21 matches, making his league debut against Odisha FC and earning his first start later that season. Across all competitions, he has made over 40 senior appearances for Kerala Blasters, logging more than 2,300 minutes.

With both twins now at Sporting Club Delhi, the club adds familiarity, youth, and Indian depth ahead of its ISL 2025–26 campaign, while Aimen and Azhar get the opportunity they were looking for: continuity, trust, and regular football under a coach who played an important role in their development.
