Inter Kashi 1-2 FC Goa Player Ratings: Passi Fights Back, but Kashi Run Out of Answers

A comeback by the Gaurs in an away clash

The captain’s equaliser showed the spirit, but a toothless first half and a leaky defence leave the Inter Kashi Yoddhas rooted to the bottom.

Balewadi hosted a contest that FC Goa controlled for long stretches, even if the scoreline stayed tight. The Gaurs started on the front foot, and Inter Kashi spent the opening half absorbing pressure through Franchu’s set-pieces and Chiki’s delivery.

Franchu broke the deadlock in the 34th minute, and Kashi had managed little beyond a handful of corners and a Chhikara effort from distance.

Sumeet Passi’s 51st-minute equaliser, set up by Rosenberg Gabriel, came against the run of play and briefly opened the game. But Chiki restored Goa’s lead in the 66th minute, and Kashi never found a second breakthrough despite five minutes of stoppage time and Gouramangi Singh’s late red card for kicking the ball away.

The result leaves Inter Kashi with one point from four games, still the foot of the table. With the opening eight games all at home, this was the sort of fixture they needed to take something from. Four more home matches remain, and the margin for error is gone.

Inter Kashi Player Ratings

Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere

Albino Gomes: 7.5/10

He was Kashi’s best player in terms of keeping the game alive. His 72nd-minute stop on Nemil, from a chance that looked destined to go in, kept it at 1-2. He was also routinely secure on Franchu’s early shot from the edge of the box.

Laldinliana: 5/10

He shared the burden of a backline under constant pressure from Goa’s wide deliveries. He was withdrawn in ’80 as the game became stretched, and he did little to suggest he deserved to stay on.

Wayne Vaz: 5.5/10

He was fouled by Chiki, whose booking for the challenge showed how much physical contact Goa’s attackers were seeking with him. He held his position reasonably through the first-half pressure but was part of a unit that couldn’t handle Goa’s late-game pushes.

Pratik Chowdhary: 5/10

The centre of defence had its hands full against Franchu and Chiki. Sandesh Jhingan’s header from a corner went wide, but Goa kept finding space around the box. Two goals conceded is not a verdict he can escape.

Nishchal Chandan: 5.5/10

He started despite injury doubts after the East Bengal loss, and he dealt with Goa’s first corner calmly. As the half wore on, Goa kept coming, and the cover thinned. A hard shift, not a convincing one.

Aritra Das: 5/10

He was part of the three-man substitution on 84′, which says plenty about the manager’s view of the side’s shape. He made little impact in either direction before leaving.

Jitendra Singh: 5.5/10

He was a low-profile presence in a game where Kashi needed control in the middle. The coverage offers little evidence of him influencing play, and that absence is itself the criticism. The side’s lack of progression through midfield owes something to this.

Rosenberg Gabriel: 7/10

He was the creative hinge of the equaliser, his assist for Passi the best attacking moment Kashi produced. The yellow card on 65′ interrupted his influence, and he was replaced on 80′ as Kashi chased the game. His delivery and movement were wide and were among the few reasons Kashi threatened at all.

Thoi Singh: 7/10

ISL 2026-27: Thoi Singh’s late volley rescues point for Inter Kashi against Odisha FC

He was Kashi’s primary spark in the first half. He won the foul that earned Akash Singh a booking and nearly beat Bob with a long-range chip on 44′ after spotting him off his line. The ambition is exactly what Kashi lacked elsewhere, and he was taken off on 84′ with the team still needing a goal.

Ayush Chhikara: 5.5/10

He worked hard and was involved in several first-half stoppages, including fouls on Vallejo and Zalaya. His 28th-minute strike from distance went well wide. The effort was there, but the end product was not.

Sumeet Passi: 7/10

A captain’s goal on 51′ dragged Kashi level and briefly changed the game’s tone. Opportunistic finishing is a real asset on a team creating so little. He faded after the equaliser and was withdrawn on 84′, which suggests the manager felt the energy had gone.

Substitutes

Jitesh, Sreekuttan (80′), Leewan, Karthik, and Aphaoba (84′): 5 (combined)

Five changes in the final ten minutes produced no discernible threat. Goa’s late dismissal of their own manager gave Kashi a psychological opening, but the fresh legs never created a clear chance. The late flurry looked more like desperation than a plan.

FC Goa Player Ratings (by Aasif Ali)

Bob Jackson Raj – 5.5/10

The goalkeeper didn’t have to make any saves in the first half. He couldn’t do anything, as Sumeet Passi scored in the 51st minute from a wonderful cross. Bob Raj didn’t have to make a save in the second half as well, having just 27 touches in the whole game.

Ronney Kharbudon – 6/10

Ronney completed 2 dribbles and 2 defensive contributions in the first half and was involved on both ends of the pitch. He was substituted out at half time in what was a questionable decision by Gauramangi Singh.

Alex Zalaya – 6.5/10

Alex Zalaya did not have to do much in the first half, as Inter Kashi resorted to taking most of their shots from a distance. Aside from their goal, Inter Kashi didn’t do much to threaten the Goan side. Zalaya ended the game with 2 defensive contributions and 5 recoveries.

Sandesh Jhingan – 7/10

Same as Zalaya, Jhingan was mostly involved in building the game from the back for FC Goa in the first half. In an attacking sense, the centreback had a headed shot in the 65th minute that went over the bar. Jhingan had 5 defensive contributions in the game alongside 3 clearances and 3 recoveries.

Akash Singh – 6/10

Akash started the game well, as the right-back was involved in the game both defensively and in attacks down the wing. He was given a yellow card in the 25th minute in what looked like a very soft challenge. Surprisingly, Akash was substituted off in the 32nd minute after the hydration break, with Nemil coming on in his place.

Tomba Singh – 7/10

Tomba Singh did his job well in FC Goa’s midfield, ending the game with 93% accurate passes. He also made 11 recoveries for his team and made 10 passes into the final third for his team.

Alex Vallejo – 7/10

Alex Vallejo is in action for the Gaurs.

Alex Vallejo played the role of box-to-box midfielder for FC Goa, making defensive contributions and taking part in attacks for his side. He ended the game with 90% accurate passes and 6 recoveries for his club.

Isak Ralte – 7/10

Isak Ralte provided the assist for FC Goa’s first goal as he put through a pass towards Franchu, who side-footed the shot into the back of the net. The left-winger had a chance of his own a few minutes later but put it over the bar. Overall, Isak created 3 chances and took four shots, all of which were off target. He was substituted out in the 89th minute.

Udanta Singh – 6/10

Udanta dropped down every now and then when Alash Singh overlapped him on the right wing. Once Akash was substituted, Udanta dropped down to the right back position till the end of the first half.

In the second half, Udanta was moved to the left back position and showed a better performance. He ended the game with 6 defensive contributions, 4 clearances, and 7 recoveries.

Franchu – 8/10

FC Goa registered their first win of ISL 2026-27.

The Argentine was not much involved at the start; however, he slotted home the game’s first goal in the 34th minute, slotting his shot into the Inter Kashi goal from the edge of the box. Franchu was more involved after scoring the goal, dropping towards the left wing multiple times. Overall, he created 5 chances and was substituted in the 80th minute.

Owing to his performance, Franchu was also awarded the Man of the Match award.

Chiki – 7/10

After a silent first half, Chiki scored in the 66th minute, making no mistake in collecting a cut-back from Nemil and slotting it into the Inter Kashi goal. He had another chance in the 69th minute but headed it wide. Overall, Chiki had 5 shots in the game.

Substitutes

Muhammed Nemil – 7/10

The winger came on in the 32nd minute to replace Akash Singh. Nemil ran onto a through ball that was sent his way by Franchu and provided a good assist to Chiki, who made it 2-1 for FC Goa in the 65th minute.

Nemil took a shot of his own in the 72nd minute, but it was saved by Albino Gomes.

Sitroy Carvalho – 5/10

The 21-year-old was brought on for Ronney in the second half. He failed to keep track of Sumeet Passi as the Inter Kashi player toe-poked his shot into the FC Goa goal to make it 1-1. Sitroy made 2 recoveries in the game.

KC Malsawmsanga – N/A

He replaced Franchu in the 80th minute, making one recovery for his team.

Haodamlian Vaiphei – N/A

Vaiphei was substituted in for Isak in the 89th minute.
