The two sides’ most recent encounter occurred at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The Red Miners were sublime and had an excellent opportunity to close the gap with the then-table-toppers Mohun Bagan. The game kickstarted with the Mariners’ captain, Subashish Bose, breaking the deadlock in the 25th minute.
As the game was inching closer to the hour mark, Jamshedpur FC’s star centre-back from Nigeria, Stephen Eze, scored a stunning lone goal after taking the ball from the midway alone until the ball found the back of the net. The match ended in a stalemate, and both teams had to settle for a point.
2. Mohun Bagan 3-0 Jamshedpur FC (23rd November, 2024)
Jamshedpur FC came after a humiliating defeat by Chennaiyin FC in their backyard. The Salt Lake Stadium holds harrowing memories for the Red Miners, and Khalid Jamil was determined to turn around his club’s fortunes in the “Mecca of Indian Football.”
The game kickstarted with Tom Aldred scoring an early goal for the home side in the 15th minute. The Red Miners pushed hard for the equaliser, but Liston Colaco doubled the lead just before the referee blew the halftime whistle. Jamie Maclaren sprinkled salt into Khalid’s wound as he netted the third goal for the Mariners.

3. Mohun Bagan 3-0 Jamshedpur FC (1st March, 2024)

Antonio Lopez Habas’ side hosted the Red Miners for what turned out to be another humiliation for Khalid in Kolkata. Dimitri Petratos opened the goal-scoring thriller in the 7th minute, and Daniel Chima Chukwu and Javier Siverio tried to make things level. After an hour mark, Jason Cummings doubled the lead for the Mariners.
Armando Sadiku hit the final nail in the coffin as he scored the third goal for the Mariners in the 80th minute. With this win, Habas’ men inched closer to the top spot in the ISL Table.
4. Jamshedpur FC 2-3 Mohun Bagan (1st November, 2023)
The game was one of the few matches that fans will remember for the ages. Scott Cooper’s men locked horns with Juan Ferrando’s side. Mohun Bagan entered this match as the favourite, but young Sanan broke the deadlock in his debut game. Mohun Bagan did not take much time to equalise, and Armando Sadiku scored the equaliser.
Liston Colaco scored again for the Mariners, and after Rehenesh’s red card, the Red Miners were reduced to ten men. Kiyan Nassiri doubled the lead in the 80th minute, and when all hopes seemed to fade away, the Red Miners were awarded a penalty. Steve Ambri converted from the spot kick, but it was not enough, as the Mariners had the last laugh.
5. Jamshedpur FC 3-0 Mohun Bagan (14th April, 2023)
The EMS Stadium in Kozhikode hosted the Mariners and the Red Miners for the Hero Super Cup 2023 group stage fixtures. The ISL Trophy Winners would have never imagined in their wildest of dreams to suffer a humiliating setback from Aidy Boothroyd’s men.
A brace from Boris Singh and a late goal from Harry Sawyer secured a semi-final berth for the Red Miners as they knocked out the mighty Mariners from the Super Cup group stage. That was the only time Jamshedpur FC registered a win over the Mariners in their last five encounters.
