ISL 2025-26: Kerala Blasters FC signs Senegalese defender Oumar Bah

Oumar has over half a decade of experience in Spanish football.
Kerala Blasters FC continue to be one of the most active clubs in this winter window, as they have completed their fifth foreign signing within a span of one week for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season.
31-year-old Senegalese centre-back Oumar Bah has now joined the Blasters on a short-term contract running until the end of the 2025-26 ISL season, as Kerala Blasters continues to strengthen its squad for the league.
The signing of Oumar comes shortly after the signings of the German winger Marlon, the Spanish midfielder Matias, striker Victor and French striker Kevin Yoke, making Oumar the fifth addition to the Tuskers’ foreign contingent.
“Oumar’s experience, his versatility and his ability to function as a modern day centre-back will hopefully be an asset for Kerala Blasters FC. I would like to wish him the very best for the season ahead.” Kerala Blasters CEO, Abhik Chatterjee, shared his views on the signing of Oumar
“I’m very happy to join the Blasters, also I am ready for this new chapter in my career. I will do my best for my team.” Oumar expressed his thoughts after signing for Kerala Blasters FC
Oumar will play a crucial role in safeguarding the Blasters’ backline

Oumar Bah is a 31-year-old Senegalese centre-back with around seven years of experience in European football, predominantly in Spanish lower-division leagues. The defender started his professional footballing career at Vilassar de Mar. Later, he joined forces with CE Europa before joining Sant Andreu and Granollers, where he spent two years each.
In 2023, he made a move to a rival club, CE L’Hospitalet, where he had just a brief stint of five months. He then went on to sign with FE Grama and Vilassar de Mar, the latest clubs he played for professionally. However, after parting ways with Vilassar in January 2025, Oumar has not featured in any professional matches for any clubs.
The centre-back now joins Kerala Blasters FC, where he will make his first-ever appearance outside European soil. Oumar will have an uphill challenge at the Blasters as his primary objective will be to fill the void in the defence after the departure of Juan Rodriguez, who parted ways with the club, citing the uncertainties in Indian Football.

What does Oumar bring to the table for the Blasters?
Standing at 1.90 metres tall, Oumar can provide Blasters with the aerial dominance whenever opponents create potential threats with set pieces. Being one of the tallest players in the Tuskers squad, Oumar can seamlessly dodge away from danger whenever the teams rely on long balls and crosses.
Having played his entire career in Spain, he also brings in experience playing in an organised defensive system and will have a deeper understanding of positioning and decision-making in the defensive third.
Oumar, along with Matias Hernandez, could potentially combine well and act as defensive anchors, providing the autonomy for the full-backs and strikers to venture deep into the attacking third and knock on the opponents’ doors.
If the defender could adapt to the Indian conditions quickly and find a rapport with the Indian defenders, he could create an impenetrable defensive fortress, which the opponents would struggle to break past.
