The former Portsmouth defender joins the Blasters as a free agent

Kerala Blasters FC have completed the signing of the 32-year-old English centre-back James Bolton on a free transfer for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season.

The defender joins the Blasters after nearly fourteen years in English and Scottish football, mostly in League One, the National League, and League Two.

As revealed by Khel Now earlier, Kerala Blasters FC have completed the signing of the former Aston Villa winger Andre Green and Montenegro international Nebojša Kosović.

Along with this, multiple domestic players, including the likes of Amrinder Singh, Mohammed Sanan, Mohammed Yasir, Sahil Tavora, Ramhlunchhunga and Paul Ramfangzauva, have joined the Blasters. James Bolton adds to the list as the latest player in this list.

The defender is expected to join the camp this week, as the team continues its preparation in Chennai at Madraf FC’s facility ahead of their match against Inter Kashi on the 11th.

Ashley Westwood, who has been a central figure around the signings of the Blasters, has been the key person behind this signing as the Blasters are set for a complete squad overhaul under the Al Fursan era.
