ISL 2025-26: Kerala Blasters FC rope in German midfielder Marlon Roos-Trujillo

Trujillo joins Kerala Blasters on a short-term deal.

Kerala Blasters FC have signed Marlon Roos-Trujillo on a contract that runs until the end of the 2025-26 Indian Super League season.

The announcement comes shortly after the club confirmed the arrival of Rowllin Borges, making it a back-to-back signing as the Blasters begin assembling their squad following the departure of their foreign players and several key members from the previous campaign. Trujillo now becomes the latest addition to the side ahead of the new season.

Trujillo gives a major boost to the Kerala Blasters FC squad

Marlon Roos-Trujillo is a 22-year-old German attacking midfielder who offers flexibility across the front line, with the ability to operate both on the left wing and as a striker when required. Over the course of his career so far, he has made 130 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 27 assists, numbers that underline his involvement in the attacking phases rather than just his finishing.

A product of the academy system at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt & FSV Mainz, Trujillo developed in a structured European environment that emphasizes technical quality, movement off the ball and tactical awareness. His time in Germany helped shape him into a creative midfielder comfortable playing between the lines, while also adapting to different attacking roles depending on the team’s needs.

The 22-year-old German was also linked to a move with English Premier League side Wolves back in 2020.

At the international level, Trujillo has represented Germany at youth level, earning 12 appearances and scoring 2 goals for the national youth sides. A former Germany U-18 international, he arrives at Kerala Blasters at an age where he already carries valuable experience yet still has plenty of room to grow as an attacking player.

What does Trujillo’s signing bring to the table?

Trujillo arrives with a profile built around creativity and movement in the final third. Having developed within European football setups and most recently featuring for NK Vukovar ’91, he brings experience from systems that place a strong emphasis on positioning, quick transitions and technical control, traits that could translate well to the demands of the Indian Super League.

Alongside Rowllin Borges’ presence in midfield, Trujillo adds a different attacking dimension, one rooted in movement, awareness and chance creation. His European training and versatility provide Kerala Blasters with added depth in attacking areas, giving the coaching staff more options across various in-game situations over the course of the season.
