ISL 2024-25: Kerala Blasters vs Hyderabad FC – Build-up
Kerala Blasters will host Hyderabad FC in their next home game of Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on November 7 (Thursday).
This fixture last season saw the Tuskers emerge victors over the Nizams. The match was an evenly matched contest with both teams creating plenty of opportunities to score.
However, a delicate cross from Adrian Luna found Milos Drincic in front of the goal, who scored late in the first half, ultimately producing the decisive goal.
Stakes
Kerala Blasters
Kerala Blasters have hit a rough patch lately, suffering back-to-back defeats against Bengaluru FC and Mumbai City FC, which have pushed them to the bottom of the table. Mikael Stahre’s side will be aiming to bounce back from these defeats, with a win here crucial to boost morale and improve their position on the table.
Hyderabad FC
Hyderabad have been struggling throughout this season having secured only one win out of their six games played. The Nizams emerged winners against Mohammedan SC but this was followed by a defeat against Mohun Bagan SG in their last game. A victory is important for them to start moving up the table.
Jesus Jimenez is in exceptional form for Kerala Blasters tallying five goals and an assist to his name in seven appearances. He has been a prolific goal-poacher in the box, while also drifting wide and dropping deep when necessary to link up play.
With Noah Sadaoui out with injury and Kwame Peprah unavailable due to suspension, Jesus Jimenez will be relied upon as the sole goal-scoring force up front for the Blasters.
The counterpart of Jesus Jimenez will be Allan Paulista for Hyderabad FC. He is one silver lining in a struggling season for Hyderabad, registering two goals in five appearances for Thangboi Singto’s side.
He will be expected to be the main source of goals up front for the Nizams, aiming to create attacking threats against a shaky Blasters defence.
