They are currently placed second on the table and are level on points with table toppers Mohun Bagan which makes the game against NorthEast United a must win contest. 

The Highlanders on the other hand find themselves in deep trouble having dropped crucial points in their last two games. Their top six aspirations took a big hit after a disappointing draw against Hyderabad was followed by 0-1 defeat to Punjab FC at home last week. The stakes are very high for Juan Pedro Benali coming into this game because they just cannot afford to drop more points having dropped 15 points already from winning positions this season.

Iker Guarrotxena and Ayush Chhikara are ruled out for the remainder of the season for Mumbai CIty FC while NorthEast United FC are expected to miss the services of Tomi Juric and Hamza Regragui.
