The Tuskers are set to travel for an away clash against the Mariners.

Kerala Blasters find themselves in an unforeseen position as the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season nears its halfway point, following back-to-back league defeats. As their struggles continue, they face a challenging encounter against fierce rivals Mohun Bagan away from home.

The Blasters head coach Mikael Stahre, on facing the league leaders in an away game, said, “It is a hard game for us. We are up against the best team in ISL at the moment, so it’s a big challenge. They have a quite complete team with many good individuals.

Mikael Stahre’s thoughts

“All teams have strengths and weaknesses. If you dig into every single opponent, you can always find some weak points. We see it as a huge challenge and we believe we can certainly gain something from the game. We have to focus on our performance and we need the support from our fans,” replied Mikael Stahre.

Kerala Blasters currently sit at the bottom table, after suffering five defeats in their last six league matches of the season. Mikael Stahre, reflecting on his side’s chances this season, stated “We are disappointed with the table situation at the moment. What we can do is work hard every single day in the training sessions and find a way out of it. I think it is a fine line between winning and losing.”

“We have not been outplayed. If I overview the games so far, it is obvious we have been struggling result-wise, but how many times have we been outplayed? How many times have we felt that, when we stepped off the field we had a chance to win the game? I think it’s a fine line, but we have to find a solution and get out of here, that’s for sure. However, there is still a chance and I think we have to stay positive,” said Mikael Stahre.
