ISL 2025-26: East Bengal's clash gainst Mohammedan SC postponed

Black Panthers are yet to clinch any points in ISL.
East Bengal’s much-anticipated Indian Super League 2025-26 clash against Mohammedan Sporting Club, to be played in the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on 21st March 2026 at 5:00 PM IST, has been postponed
After winning two consecutive games in the first two match weeks of the Indian Super League, East Bengal FC were among the frontrunners to win the ISL 2025-26 Shield and were at the top of the table.
However, a series of inconsistent results, including a defeat to Jamshedpur FC and two back-to-back draws against Kerala Blasters and FC Goa, saw the Red and Yellow Brigade slip to the fifth spot. Oscar Bruzon will be keen to get back to winning ways with a win over Mohammedan in the next game.
The Black Panthers, on the other hand, are inching closer to relegation with every matchweek, as they are yet to clinch even a solitary point in the ISL. They badly need a win to keep their survival hopes alive.
Mehrajuddin Wadoo-led Mohammedan SC have an all-Indian squad and have impressed a lot, despite failing to secure any points so far in the Indian Super League campaign.
East Bengal vs Mohammedan fixture postponed due to Eid

The fourth fixture of Matchweek 6 of the Indian Super League was originally scheduled to take place between East Bengal FC and Mohammedan SC in the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on 21st March 2026 at 5:00 PM IST.
However, the fixture date conflicts with the festival of Eid Al Fitr. For many Mohammedan fans and football-loving people from the City of Joy, this is a pious occasion, where they spend time with their friends and family together to celebrate the festival. Also, the availability of the police force was an issue.
The match has now been postponed to 23 March, at the same venue and time. There are no other matches scheduled on the day, and the ISL will now halt owing to India’s AFC Asian Cup qualification fixture between India and Hong Kong on 31 March 2026.
East Bengal are winless in their last three games

The Red and Gold Brigade kick-started their campaign with two wins over Sporting Delhi and NorthEast United FC. However, since the last three games, the team is winless, and Oscar Bruzon will be keen to get back to winning ways with a win over Mohammedan.
Given the Black Panthers’ recent form, Mehrajuddin Wadoo would be keen to give opportunities to young lads like Singson, Laldinpuia and Sajal Bag, who have been brilliant so far. It will be interesting to see if the Black Panthers can pull an upset against the Red and Gold Brigade in Kolkata.
