ISL: Mohammedan Sporting Club sign Fahad Temuri on 3-year contract

The Black Panthers are only the second side to be promoted to the ISL

Soon to be debutants, Mohammedan Sporting Club have roped in 20-year-old left winger Fahad Temuri from Delhi FC Khel Now can exclusively confirm. The Delhi based youngster has signed a 3-year contract after signing from Delhi FC on a free transfer, where he impressed scouts with his performances in the DSA A division.

“Fahad is a talented young player with a lot of potential,” said a source close to the club, who wished to remain anonymous. “We are excited to have him on board and believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”

Fahad has also been part of Delhi FC’s second division I-League campaign in the 2022-23 season whereas he has also featured for the Delhi based I-League side last season 

In April earlier this year, Mohammedan Sporting, became only the second side after Punjab FC to be promoted to the ISL. They leapfrogged Sreenidi Deccan, accumulating 52 points at the end of the 24-game I-League season. Following their title win, the Black Panthers have shown their trust in Russian Manager Andrey Chernyshov to lead the team in the top division league after the successful campaign last season.

Temuri’s signing is a significant boost to Mohammedan Sporting’s attacking options, and the club will be hoping he can replicate his form in the ISL. With his pace, skill, and experience playing in the DSA A division, he could prove to be a valuable asset for the team.

The century-old Kolkata club have been upgrading their options whilst awarding the best performers of their title-winning season. Khel Now earlier confirmed Mohammed Jassim who has been rewarded by the management with a new deal before the ISL season.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan SC will kick start their preparation for the upcoming season in the Durand Cup. The Black Panthers have been pitted alongside Inter Kashi, Bengaluru FC and the Indian Navy Football Team side. 

Mohammedan missed the qualification of the Durand Cup knockout by a whisker in the last edition  However, they will be eager to play the knockouts and aim for the Cup.
