Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan will return to ISL action after a long break.
Mohun Bagan will be back in action in the Indian Super League (ISL) after an 11-day gap when they travel to face Hyderabad FC on Wednesday (30 October).
After beating rivals East Bengal in compelling fashion on 19 October, the Mariners hope to maintain their winning run against an unpredictable Hyderabad FC side who are bouncing high on confidence after their battering of Mohammedan Sporting recently.
Ahead of the match, Jose Molina reflected on the threats posed by the Nawabs heading into the clash. When asked about their recent resurgence after the win over the Black Panthers, Jose Molina stated, “It’s true that we’ve had a long gap between our last match and the upcoming one, but that is the reality because of the troubles with AFC. The team is working well every day in training and we’ll be well-prepared for the next game.
“Hyderabad had a great game against Mohammedan SC, I’ve told you before that it’s never easy to win a match in the ISL and the Hyderabad match will be a tough match. We’ll be ready to fight and work hard through the 90 minutes to do our best. If we can do that, we expect to win. We have to execute our plans well to win the match,” Jose Molina further added.

Changing style of play
Despite acknowledging Hyderabad FC to be a stern opposition, Jose Molina has insisted that Mohun Bagan will not be tweaking their playing style at all. Jose Molina claimed: “We have our style to play. I don’t want to change it, not now or ever, that’s what we’re trying to do. We try to start dominating matches from the start in our style.
“That is what we’ll try against Hyderabad FC, nothing more than that. I respect them because they are fighting and playing well, but we have to do our job, play how we are playing and try to have success in the box, score goals, not concede and come back with three points,” Jose Molina further opined.
Mohun Bagan will hope to give an early Diwali gift to their fans with a big win over Hyderabad FC to pick up their third straight win in the ISL.
A win can also help the Kolkata heavyweights to leap over Jamshedpur FC and move back into second place in the ISL table as they continue their chase on Bengaluru FC in the ISL league Shield championship.
