Odisha FC put in a resolute performance to grab a point from a tough contest.

Sergio Lobera’s Odisha FC settled for a draw in their recently concluded match of Indian Super League 2024-25 against Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai on Sunday (October 27).

Both the teams managed to score just one goal in the whole match. Roy Krishna scored the first goal of the match and gave a 1-0 lead to Odisha FC in the 14th minute of play.

Nikos Karelis scored the equalizer of the match in the 23rd minute of play. There were numerous occasions where both the teams created chances for themselves but couldn’t convert any of them into a goal.

With the draw, Odisha FC are now in seventh place in the points table with eight points from six matches which includes two wins, two losses and two draws. On the other hand, Mumbai City FC are in ninth place with six points from five matches, which includes one win, three losses and a draw.

Here is a look at Odisha FC’s post-match press conference, which was attended by their head coach, Sergio Lobera.

Lost two points

Coach Sergio Lobera looked disappointed at the result of the match which didn’t go in their favour as he thinks they lost two points which they could have achieved.

When a question was raised regarding Odisha’s performance in the match, Sergio Lobera replied, “My feeling is that we got one point but lost two points. We started the game very well. Towards the end, it got difficult to play with just 10 players on the field.”

Second Yellow in the game

In the 80th minute of play, Ahmed Jahouh was shown a red card due to two back-to-back yellows in the match, which affected Odisha’s game somewhat. Sergio Lobera said, “We need to avoid the second yellow in a game.”

“I haven’t seen the video again of what happened on the pitch. I would say that the work of the referees is always difficult. We can’t blame them. We need to understand that mistakes can also happen by them,” Sergio Lobera concluded.
