This was NorthEast United’s biggest win in this ISL campaign.

NorthEast United registered a comfortable 3-0 win against Odisha FC, to end their ISL 2023-24 season on a bright note. The Highlanders, who under the leadership of Juan Pedro Benali underwent a complete transformation, showed great intent and character, to register three splendid goals in the first half itself, and seal all three points.

Parthib Gogoi scored the opener for the Highlanders following a brilliant counter attack, which was followed by some ‘Nestor Albiach magic’ in the 16th minute, wherein the Spaniard fizzled past two defenders and then the goalkeeper, to score a belter.

Finally, right at the stroke of half-time, NorthEast United put the game to bed as Parthib’s cheeky grounded cross found Phalguni Singh within scoring range. The latter didn’t fumble and smashed the ball home.

With this win, NorthEast United finished their season in seventh place, ahead of the likes of East Bengal and Bengaluru FC.
