ISL 2023-24: Odisha FC vs Punjab FC – Build-up

Odisha FC are going to face Punjab FC in their next match of ISL 2023-24 at the Kalinga Stadium on April 2, 2024. 

The home team, who are looking a bit off colour in the last couple of matches, haven’t performed to their best of skills. The match is also going to be an interesting one as Odisha FC will look to get the most important points on board and move ahead in the ISL points table. Meanwhile, Punjab too, will hope for a win to strengthen their playoff chances. 

Sergio Lobera’s team has been exceptional in the ongoing season. They have also remained at the top of the points table for a couple of weeks. Although the last two of their matches haven’t gone their way, that hasn’t demotivated the Kalinga Warriors, who are eyeing their maiden ISL Shield. 

This match at their home ground might benefit the players as the presence of local fans will add confidence to their way of play and will surely help them come out with a positive result. 

Staikos Vergetis’ men have been very particular about their performance. They are now at the eighth position in the points table, which is understandable as they hadn’t performed to the best of their efforts in the budding stages of the season. 

Last two matches have gone their way, as in the first match they defeated NorthEast United and in the following one, they managed to draw against FC Goa who are placed higher to them in the points table. In the coming match, they will surely look to keep up their performance and create an upset for the home team.
