East Bengal end their ISL 2023-24 with a disappointing performance.

Punjab FC finished their debut Indian Super League (ISL) season in the best possible way with an emphatic 4-1 victory over East Bengal. Hence with this win, Punjab FC have knocked East Bengal from the playoffs race. On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC got their tickets to the playoffs in the sixth spot.

The game began with Madih Talal bringing Kamaljit Singh into action early before Jordan Wilmar Gil opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Subsequently, Sayan Banerjee canceled out Jordan’s early goal with a world-class goal and restored parity for the Red and Golds a few minutes later. Both sides kept on piling pressure on each other before Madih Talal put Punjab FC in the lead once again just before the drinks break.

Punjab FC came out even stronger in the second half and were constantly creating chances to score a third goal and put the game to bed. Finally, the third goal arrived when Jordan Gil combined well with Madih Talal and scored an absolute screamer to put his side 3-1 up.

The Shers were still not done yet and came up with a fourth goal. Madih Talal beautifully set up Luka Majcen who put the final nail in the coffin just a few minutes before full-time. The Punjab FC skipper had another chance to score, but couldn’t sort his feet out on time. East Bengal were devasted and nothing went their way in this ISL clash.
