Punjab FC have now been knocked out of the ISL playoffs contention.

In the recently concluded match of the ISL 2023-24, Mohun Bagan emerged victorious against Punjab FC by a 1-0 scoreline at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. 

Dimitri Petratos remained the only goal-scorer of the match, who gave Mohun Bagan the lead in the 42nd minute by taking a shot from outside of the box and eventually helped them secure a much needed win in the league. Punjab FC couldn’t match the foot of their opponent in the first half, but in the second half they tried levelling up their game but in the end couldn’t manage a single goal and faced defeat. 

With this win, Mohun Bagan moved up to the second spot in the points table with 42 points from 20 matches and remained in contention for grabbing the ISL Shield. On the other hand, Punjab’s hopes of making it to the playoffs were thrashed down with this defeat.
