The Shers are currently second in the points table following a perfect start.

Punjab FC have now made it two wins in two games in the ISL, as their perfect start to the season continues. Panagiotis Dilmperis’s men, after an emphatic win against Kerala on the weekend, register another hard-fought victory against Odisha FC at home.

The Shers stunned Sergio Lobera’s men with a disciplined and tactically flawless performance throughout the 90 minutes, restricting an attacking-oriented Odisha FC to just a solitary shot on target throughout the game.

Panagiotis Dilmperis and his men now surely have done enough, to give everyone a wake-up alarm, that the Shers mean business this season, and that it won’t be tough to break apart this Punjab FC team.

Speaking about his players, Punjab FC head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis heaped high praises for his players and was quite delighted about their resilient performance and astounding results.

The Greek man also pinpointed on Nihal Sudeesh and Leon Augustine, both of whom scored in tonight’s game, stating that the two had a brilliant performance, and still have a long way to go.

“Both the young boys work hard, and with discipline and a lot of commitment to what I’m looking for, imagine what will happen when these young players perform with these kinds of performances, and the old players start performing the way that we know they can do,” said Panagiotis Dilmperis when asked about the two players.

Another youngster who caught the eyes of the spectators was Abhishek Singh, who was an absolute machine down the wings and put up a brilliant defensive shift to restrict Odisha FC. Speaking of his contributions tonight, Dilmperis said, “Abhishek Singh is a right back but he is playing as a left back. Defensively he is doing great, attackingly he is doing great. Today he was amazing.”

All in all the Shers are in great form at the moment, and they are a tough team to get past this season. Under Panagiotis Dilmperis, Punjab FC are only getting started, and they are undoubtedly an exciting prospect this season.

Also with star players like Mushaga Bakenga yet to find their footing in the league, the best of Punjab FC is yet to come, and the head coach is patient regarding the Norwegian’s performances.

“Today Mushaga Bakenga Bakenga tried, but he needs to find his steps. We are here to support not only Bakenga but all the other players who might need time to adjust themselves to the new conditions. I trust him, I believe him and I’m sure that in the coming future, he is going to score goals.”, Panagiotis Dilmperis concluded.
