Hyderabad FC's Shameel Chembakath outlines strategy against East Bengal FC

Hyderabad FC face East Bengal FC in their last away fixture of the league.
Shameel Chembakath’s Hyderabad FC face East Bengal FC in their last away fixture of this season in the Indian Super League. This crucial encounter is all set to take place at the VYBK Stadium, Kolkata on the 26th of February 2025.
Hyderabad FC’s Interim Head Coach Shameel Chembakath addressed the media during the pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture against the Red and Gold Brigade.
Coach Shameel’s thoughts
“I believe we are playing possession style of football while focusing on attacking. And I know that players are taking this challenge very positively. And they prepared well. We got enough time to prepare for the match against them. And I think we just need to make sure that we stay disciplined and you know, we take our chances and stick on our game plan. That is what is more important in our next match.” The tactician opined.
“In the reverse fixture, we conceded the only goal from set pieces, which we need to work on. We also need to make sure that we are not committing more fouls. And whatever chances we get, we just need to make sure that we are able to convert them into goals”
Following a series of strong performances, Hyderabad FC prepares to face a challenging East Bengal FC side, who held them to a 1-1 draw earlier in the season. Coach Shameel, while acknowledging East Bengal’s strength, emphasized his team’s unwavering focus on securing a win and the vital three points.
“East Bengal FC are a strong team with quality players. I think they have been consistent in the last two matches and we respect their strengths. We know that they are a strong team and they have Messi Bouli who has, joined recently. I think he is doing a great job so far. But we just need to make sure that we are not giving space for them. And of course, the aim would be trying to score in the beginning of the minutes and we just maintain the game.” He stated.
Hyderabad FC face East Bengal in their last away game before a crucial home stand. However, Coach Shameel emphasizes a methodical approach, stressing that the team’s entire attention is currently devoted to the East Bengal clash. The focus is on achieving a positive result in this encounter before shifting their sights to the remaining home fixtures.
“Basically, we are just focusing on the East Bengal game right now despite it being the last away game for us. We are just taking one match at a time. The spirit that the players showed in the last match was really amazing. So, we just need to make sure that we sustain that intensity the entire 90 minutes. That is more important. And if you see, the last two matches have been good. So it’s a positive sign. But again Every match is equally important for us. We just need to make sure that we are just focusing on every match right now. And then, we will take it steadily. But our main aim is to get the 3 points from this fixture” He concluded.
