FC Goa moved to the second spot in the ISL table.
After six back-to-back draws, we finally got a result in the final match of the week. FC Goa continued their brilliant run of form and took down East Bengal in their latest outing. The hosts started strong with Mohammad Yasir creating an early chance, but his shot went wide before Brison Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. Fernandes continued his sublime run of form and scored his sixth goal of the season.
Dimitrios Diamantakos found himself in a goalscoring position, but just couldn’t put the ball past the keeper. Iker Guarrotxena came very close to scoring the second goal for the Gaurs, but ended up hitting the woodwork. East Bengal came all out in the second half and almost equalised, but Boris Singh denied Richard Celis a debut goal with a clearance off the line. Celis had one more attempt on goal, but this time Hritik Tiwari had his angles covered.
