Mohun Bagan sit at the top of ISL 2024-25 table.

Mohun Bagan secured their 14th win of the season and have extended their lead at the top of the standings following a 3-0 triumph over Punjab FC. The Mariners have looked invincible this season and are just two points behind in matching in their points tally from last season with four games in hand. The hosts started strong and brought Ravi Kumar into action thrice in the first half before heading into half-time with a scoreline of 0-0.

Punjab FC came very close to breaking the deadlock with their latest import Petros Giakoumakis hitting the woodwork. The league leaders scored the first goal of the game when Dipendu Biswas found Jamie Maclaren with a pinpoint pass and the Australian made no mistake in putting it past the keeper. Liston Colaco made it 2-0 before Maclaren put the game to bed with a strike in the 91st minute.

A brief look at the points table

Nothing changes in the standings following tonight’s result. Mohun Bagan have extended their lead at the top of the table to 12 points and now have 46 points in 20 games. Jamshedpur FC stick to the second position with 34 points. FC Goa held the third spot with 33 points. NorthEast United retained the fourth position with 29 points followed by Bengaluru FC at fifth with 28 points. Mumbai City FC complete the top six with 28 points.

Odisha FC remained unchanged at the seventh position with 25 points. Kerala Blasters have not moved from the eighth spot with 24 points. Punjab FC remained at the ninth spot with 23 points. East Bengal retained the tenth spot with 18 points and Chennaiyin FC continued to sit at eleventh with 18 points. Hyderabad FC are still positioned twelfth with 13 points. Mohammedan SC remained intact at the bottom of the table with eleven points.
