ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 56, East Bengal FC vs NorthEast United FC
The game saw two red cards in the final 20 minutes.
East Bengal have finally got their Indian Super League (ISL) campaign up and running with their first and much-needed victory of the season. The Red and Gold Brigade were clearly the better side and kept NorthEast United at bay for the majority of the game. The hosts put up a dominant and much-improved display to secure their first three points of the season.
East Bengal’s high-profile recruit Madih Talal set up last season’s Golden Boot winner Dimitrios Diamantakos for the opening goal midway through the first half. Oscar Bruzon’s side were all over the Highlanders and did not allow them many opportunities. They also kept Alaeddine Ajaraie at bay. Both sides received a red card each and were down to ten men in the second half.
