A match that produces six goals has to be entertaining.

East Bengal FC returned to winning ways in ISL with a bang against Punjab FC and have now secured their third win of the season. The Red and Gold Brigade came back from 0-2 down to win the game 4-2. They continue to build upon their newly found confidence under new head Oscar Bruzon. They have secured a win in three of their last four outings after losing all of their six opening Indian Super League (ISL) games.

Ezequiel Vidal set up Asmir Suljić for a picture-perfect opener early in the game before scoring the second goal in the final stages of the first half. East Bengal came out all guns blazing and pulled a goal back from a header by Hijazi Maher. Vishnu came off the bench and equalised for his side before Nongmeikapam Meitei scored an own goal and put the hosts ahead. David Lalhlansanga scored the fourth goal and put the game to bed.

A brief look at the points table

The upper half of the table remains unchanged following today’s result. Mohun Bagan haven’t moved one inch from the top of the standings while Bengaluru FC hold the second position. Odisha FC are still placed third while FC Goa continue to sit at the fourth position. Punjab FC are still positioned fifth despite facing a defeat tonight while Jamshedpur FC complete the top six.

Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC remain unchanged at the seventh and eighth positions respectively. Chennaiyin FC hold the ninth spot and the Kerala Blasters are still ranked tenth. Despite a huge win, East Bengal sit at the eleventh position. The twelfth and thirteenth positions are held by Hyderabad FC and Mohammedan SC respectively.
