ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 81, Chennaiyin FC vs Bengaluru FC

East Bengal FC shared spoils with Hyderabad FC in this week’s Saturday doubleheader in ISL. The Red and Gold Brigade had almost won the game until the Nizams turned up with a late equaliser. Cleiton Silva’s freekick hit the crossbar and bounced back into the play before Jeakson Singh bounced on the first opportunity and headed it home. Manoj Mohammed made a beautiful overlapping run and smashed the ball past the keeper to secure a late point for his side.
In the second game, Bengaluru FC ran riot against Chennaiyin away from home. Ryan Williams scored an early goal and put the Blues ahead before Irfan Yadwad pulled a goal back. Sunil Chhetri made it 2-1 and then Lalrinliana Hnamte made it 2-2. Ryan Williams scored his second goal and put Bengaluru into the driving seat before the Blues forced Laldinliana Renthlei into an own goal and wrapped up a 2-4 win.
A brief look at the points table
Nothing changes on the standings following tonight’s result. Mohun Bagan are still at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) summit with 29 points in 13 games. Bengaluru FC have strengthened their position in the second spot with 27 points. FC Goa hold the third spot with 22 points.
Odisha FC continue to be placed fourth while Mumbai City FC are still ranked fifth with 20 points. NorthEast United remain unchanged at the sixth spot with 18 points. Punjab FC stick to the seventh spot with 18 points in 12 games.
Jamshedpur FC are still positioned at eighth with 18 points. Chennaiyin FC retained the ninth position with 15 points. Kerala Blasters occupy the tenth spot with 14 points to their name. East Bengal are locked at eleventh with 14 points. The twelfth and thirteenth positions are occupied by Hyderabad FC and Mohammedan SC respectively.
